OH NOES...
You can't close the beta...
OPEN IT BACK UP...
TURN THE MACHINES BACK ON...
(joke from Trading Places, btw.)

Man I got in late and barely had time to get started...shame. smile:(
Had a great time working with FF guys.
Excellent product.

Peace!

No need to open it back up smile:) The trial period of the final version will be 90 days (three months!) -- that's more than enough to learn FF, submit some good filters and earn the free copy via the Library reward system.

Wow that was awesome!

A general echo of the sentiments above. I already paid for my copy, does this mean
I can have my money back?

If so that rocks!

The whole thing has been a blast! There are some incredibly talented people involved
in this project and I am honored to have been a part of it.

at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.

Whaaaa....?
I saw the email and thought, "Man, that would've been cool if I had won a copy but... Well, I have been busy with work and the family...."(that's me consoling myself preemptively smile:D) Then when I checked the list, there I was! I am truly humbled to be included with some of the brilliant people involved, not only with the beta test but the programmers and everyone who made Filter Forge happen. (Lord, this sounds like an Oscar speech !)

Congrats to everyone on the list and thanks for the gracious gesture for the FF team.

Humbly,

Nice. I didn't realize how close to the end of the beta testing period I was. Looks like I came in just in time to score a copy. Thanks to s8n for pointing Filter Forge out.

You're very generous in giving out copies. Being a hobbyist game developer/modder, I appreciate this. I hope you can still manage to make a profit, too.

Big thanks to the Filter Forge team of course... and also thanks to all you guys and girls in this forum. It's too bad we're all miles apart and nobody managed to make a teleportation filter yet. Otherwise we could all have met up somewhere to party, get drunk and talk about filters.

I almost forgot: This also means that the whole FF team will soon be able to remedy the disastrous condition of not having a lounge area with comfy sofas, many cushions, lush plants and warm diffuse ceiling lighting...

I'm glad they decided to error on the side of generosity. Handing out half a dozen free copies would've definitely made them look cheap, but that's not the case, and almost no one has to feel left out now. Thanks FF. smile:)

I think we should organize a trip to Russia to party with the FF team! (This coming from someone who was afraid she wouldn't be able to afford to buy the program!) LOL

Instead, let's all raise a glass at midnight, Eastern Standard Time. The hell with it, I'm gonna have a glass of wine now.

First off I would like to acknowledge the extrordinarily generous reward done by the team lets face it our filter contributions pale in comparison to the hard work and dedication they put in to developing this software I cant put enough beers and smileys here so I wont I just really want them to konw That I truly appreciate the elegance of its funcitonality and clean and functional ui

Second My hats off to all of you that won a free copy some of the contributions here are truly astounding in their own right
brilliant and highly creative are the terms that pop in my head
I actually feel they where overly generous when I look at the caliber of some of the contributions and then my own works
It has been a pleasure and fun and rewarding utilizing your software I have learned more about color and how photo programs work in this excersize then i had learned in a long time.
I really would like to express my sincere gratitude at the honor and privaledge its been to work with your beta
The feedback has been inteligent and sincere from my perspective---one of the few times I beta tested a comercial product where I actually felt the company had the end user in mind

again thank you and congratulations to everyone smile:D

amen to that!

and i shld add to mine a thanks to all that allowed me to shamelessly borrow their ideas and snippets. great group of beta testers!

and i personally want to thank vladimir for putting up with my endless requests and arguements for 'more controls!'. it's not every company or person that's willing to do this in light of their own vision for their project/product. there is certainly such a thing as 'comprimising your own reality', but there's also 'supplying what's needed and wanted' and those two things can come into conflict at times, seemingly. and i'm very glad he went with the latter!
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Exactly smile:) I wear that hat every day when I ride to the office on the back of my riding bear. Actually I have two of them (hats, not bears -- bears are expensive), the short one is 30cm, my casual wear, and a ceremonial one, 45cm, with a red star -- I wear this one only on special occasions smile:D smile:D smile:D

Actually, when we were designing smilies for this board, I thought about adding a Яussiaи-style smiley smile:D

Longevity, I can guarantee. Filter Forge is built to last through the entire Vista lifecycle, which I believe will be at least 10 years. I've seen small software products that lasted 7 years or even more without being unique at all.

As for success, only time will tell smile:)

Gosh, that's so niiiice! Thank you graciously, Vladimir, and I'm thrilled to be on the list. I found out just now, so I'm late... but as the saying goes, better late than never.

Incidentally, I've been blogging about using Filter Forge to make textures for Second Life, and this just motivates me more.

Congrats all who helped make Filter Forge better, and cheers to Vladimir & Co. for continuing to progress such a useful, fun tool. I'm happy I found out about it.

My feelings have already been expressed many times.

but here goes anyway...

I got the email, and though I did contribute where I could, since it's such a wonderful product to use it was fun and became somewhat of an obsession... I really wasn't expecting my name to be there... and I get a free copy? That's so cool! It seems honour and true customer appreciation exists. You guys put your money where your keyboards were... so to speak. I intend to vigorously enjoy my free copy, and contribute as much as I can to the community.

Thanks so much you guys, you made my month over here.

smile:)
