Wavefunction 01 and wavefunction 02 are very well done. Perfect for SciFi, technology or geometry.

Lightcone 01 and your picture for "My new years resolution is 2020x1010 px" are really artistic.
Great works!

Nice stuff emme!

Virus image: all FF? I'm curious about the virus bodies...

Thanks Sphinx.

Virus: All FF, yes. Each arm is a loop drawing ellipses out along the surface normal of the main body, scattered with a bomber. Here is a closeup.

Beach: No raytracing used here. Just the trusty old flip y and offset with normals. The rocks are a separate pass. 3D perlin loop for the clouds.

WOW!! Incredible and amazing how you have done this very well done 3D virus using only 2D FF, congratulations

And wish that nobody here in the forum is infected by this virus and that you keep in good health

I get the impression that a lot of your filters are "purpose built", emme. They produce such distinctive images, I have a hard time believing they are "30K variations at the touch of a button" filters. The filters themselves are works of art. Unique and mindblowing.

Inspiring, to say the least.

Thanks David. Yes, if I have a specific goal in mind, I'll build the filter for that specific purpose. Generally I like to build more flexible filters, but sometimes precision makes more sense.

I understand. It seems like all my good ideas are too precise for a Library-qualified filter to manage. The filter will produce one good image in a thousand, assuming you can page through that many variations to find the second! smile:D

Like usual, you never cease to amaze. These paintlab sets are rad. Like Print level quality. Are there any external resources you use to learn this or prior knowledge to FF? Or is this all trial and error? Also did you use scripts for these paint pieces? Sorry to barrage you with questions, just really am blown away by your work every time I come on here.

Thanks Ziggy! I would say external resources act as an initial inspiration, then it's just trial and error... and patience. I do have around 20 years of experience with computer graphics, but most experiments probably still fail haha. The paintlab filter doesn't use any scripts.

I agree with Martin and CfandM these Paintlabs are really great and well done and amazing how you have been able to do the Sketchblocks that are in realistic 3D and have no idea how this is even possible in FF.

For the Paintlab, I have no idea how you can be able to do these awesome realistic brush strokes inside FF without script or source images, and you are on a very high level and much expert and apart form other FF, so I can not bother thinking how it was done.

But you have inspired me to this idea to fake them using external images

I have found a way to use Photoshop Brushes inside FF to create things

Thanks SpaceRay!

For paintlab, the basic process is:

1. Generate random blobs of color
2. Generate random brush strokes (as you can see, these are actually very simple)
3. Gradually move and blend the colors (perlin noise for x/y offset, brush strokes as a mask)
4. Blend in basic lighting to add some texture and depth

All the elements are simple, the complexity comes from the process of moving the paint, just like in real life I guess smile:)

Btw, here is a method of scattering the sample coordinates along a path, defined by two curves (x/y position of the path). Don't know how useful this is, but I'll share it anyways smile:)

I really admire and congratulate you for being an expert and master of FF and that you are really way above any "normal" FF user and among many of the available FF experts here in the forum.

You really know how to make unique and special things with FF, and you really show that FF is NOT at all a simple Photoshop plugin as it is advertised, as you can do all this unique things you are able to make

Definitely been wondering this for a bit, but do you generate pieces separately then put them in a layout, or do you have a way to have it generate multiple pieces and display them? Because the way you display the iterations of your work is just so clean and satisfying.

Thanks. For the gridlike layouts I often like to use the Bomber Plus. The bomber randomizer can be used to generate design variations.

A nice little trick to create non-square tiles is to pre-squash the particle input and then do an inversed transformation on the output.

Thanks really very much for showing this as it is very interesting and useful to know how you have done this very good and well done grid with random results inside.

Please, can you be so kind to tell if these awesome brushes are done with the scatter coordinates along path as you have shown above?

How do you make such realistic and truly brush strokes so well done?

Thanks very much for any possible help
