Hallo everybody and good evening (at least in Austria, where I am),

I am new in filter creating and after I saw this great community here, I dare to ask for help in an issue, I can't fix myself.

I am trying to make a magnifying glass filter get ugly shadows with hard edges on some parts.

I posted a screenshot of the filter here, but I saw, some people posted the filters directly. I could not figure out how to do that. If someone can tell me how to post filters, i will do that.

I really would appreciate, if someone could give me some advice.

To post your filter, right click it in the filters list and select 'locate file'. This will open a folder where all your filters are saved. You can upload it from there smile:)

to get rid of the edge under the lens, swap the step curve for an impulse so you can move the edge up which hides the edge by the ring of the lens. Put in a threshold and adjust your caussian for the 2 to match. Anyway other may suggest better ways smile;)

I did it like this. Not 100% perfect though.

Thank you so much Carl and Totte! So there are two entirely different ways to do it. It already looks great in your version, Totte. I had not even discovered the alpha slider yet.

I want to add some detail now and beautify it a bit. smile:)
