Filter Forge Update 1.015 - Filter Corruption Protection, Mac OS X 10.4 Support, and Bug Fixes

Alexandria, VA, USA (January 22, 2009) – Filter Forge, Inc. today released the update 1.015 to Filter Forge, a Photoshop plugin that allows users to create their own filters. The current update introduces filter protection from corruption while editing, enables running the program under Mac OS X 10.4 and fixes several bugs.

How to update: To download and install the update 1.015, select Tools > Updates from the Filter Forge main menu. The update preserves all downloaded and user-created filters, as well as user settings and the license key. Users who do not want to use the built-in update feature can download and install the update manually from http://www.filterforge.com/download/

List of Updates, Additions and Fixes

Platform-independent:

  • The new URL schema for opening filters from the online filter library was introduced, eliminating the .ffcmd files.
  • The command-line renderer XML scheme was updated, the renderer settings are now independent of the settings in the UI.
  • The help file now reflects changes to the command-line renderer scheme.
  • Crashes during filter editing no longer erase the current filter (already released as a hotfix).

Windows-specific:

  • The current edition no longer reverts to the trial version or to a lesser edition while editing a filter (already released as a hotfix).

Mac OS X specific:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented launching under Mac OS X 10.4 (already released as a hotfix).
  • Non-standard mouse buttons are now handled correctly.
  • The plugin installation utility now correctly installs Filter Forge as a plugin.
  • The Save dialog now works correctly under Mac OS X 10.4.
  • Fixed handling of missing help files.
  • The beta trial period no longer expires prematurely.
  • The command-line renderer example file now contains Mac OS paths.
  • Fixed incorrect menu display and mouse handling when switching between program windows.
  • Fixed the Shift+Space shortcut in the built-in library browser.
  • Fixed excessive CPU load in the plugin mode.
