April 12, 2010
Alexandria, VA, April 12, 2010 – Filter Forge, Inc. today released the third beta test stage of Filter Forge 2.0, a high-end plugin for Adobe Photoshop allowing computer artists to build their own filters. Additionally, Filter Forge 1.0 is currently available at a 50% spring discount.
The key feature introduced in Beta Stage 3 is the support for non-seamless filters – previously, all filters in Filter Forge were restricted to seamless tiling, which severely limited creative possibilities. Other important additions include five unrestricted Transform components (Scale, Rotate, Flip, updated Offset and Lookup), 24 new components for performing mathematical operations on high dynamic range RGB colors, 3 new shape components, a versatile Free Gradient component, and the long-requested eyedropper tool that helps users fine-tune and debug complex filters.
The beta version is available at http://www.filterforge.com/download/beta2/index.html. The beta is a fully functional 30-day trial version of the Filter Forge 2.0 Professional edition. All registered users of Filter Forge 1.0 can get a free beta key that allows them to use the beta version until the end of the beta period. The last beta stage and the commercial release are planned for Q2 2010.
Additionally, all editions of Filter Forge 1.0 are currently offered at a time-limited 50% spring discount – you can save up to $150. To buy Filter Forge 1.0 at a 50% discount and get a free beta 2.0 key, click here: http://www.filterforge.com/buy/
Filter Forge is a versatile Photoshop plugin which lets both novice and expert users create a wide variety of realistic and abstract textures and effects. Users can take instant advantage of over 7000 free community-created filters in the online filter library at http://www.filterforge.com/filters/, or create their own filters in the visual filter editor by assembling them from components such as blurs, gradients, color adjustments, noises, distortions, or blends – without writing a single line of code. Most of the filters are seamlessly tiled and all of them are adjustable, resolution independent, support real-world HDRI lighting, and can automatically generate diffuse, specular, bump, and normal maps.
