In Beijing a wealthy businessman called Mr Zhang built an artificial mountain-style villa covering the roof of a 26-storey apartment building. He constructed the sprawling 1000-square-meter complex without permits, complete with pools, fake rocks and real trees over six years, despite numerous complaints fr om building residents concerned about continuous noise, structural damage and leaks. Building work was mostly done in the small hours of the night, with materials like fake rocks & timber loaded into the elevator. Residents had complained many times to officials, but nothing was done to stop the construction, until images of it went viral on social media. Finally a government order was given to demolish the structure and demolition crews moved in. I found this a rather lame ending, hence my conclusion to this story is more exciting. Mr Zhang got extremely cross, ran up to the highest point and started waving his magic want around. This brought about thunder and lightning. What people didn’t realize was that he had prepared for this kind of event, so he built a secret helium chamber underneath the structure. The waving of his thunderous want started to dislodge the structure from the rooftop. The helium, carefully stored away for years, did the rest for him. In no time he was floating in the skies above Beijing, wh ere on fine days people used to spot him high up in the air. For all I know he still lives happily after…. ;-)
