  • Comparison between FF2 and FF3 render speed test
..., BUT there is ALSO one perhaps very important difference, at least I think it is for me, and is that FF2 is 64 bit and FF3 is 32 bit, and I am using Windows 64 bit. ¿ There is NO difference in performance or render speed by using the 32bit or 64bit versions ?

.... Allocate memory for the specific operation only and for the blur do a horizontal then a vertical operation. On other operations you can for example do them in pixel blocks, say 64x64 allocating and releasing memory between each block. 2. Make a 64bit version so unlimited of memory and Thread size can be used. OBS: Not being able to render out: and I quote "... and render huge images up to 65000 x 65000 pixels in size" which is the biggest selling point for the pro version, might ...

Third preset (circle with square in it) took 20 seconds to start, then total of 2:22 with 5 AA. I'm on Win7 64bit with standalone version of FF3, and I have to mention I have lots of stuff going on in the background, including 10 IE windows, 4 Chrome windows, uTorrent running at full steam, and all kinds of stuff the probably clogs the system. • FF Crashes Photoshop every time
Author: steveshead. Me again! I downloaded and installed V2 - copied the two plugin files from the install directory to the Photoshop CS5 plugin directory (there's still a lack of instructions) - I'm running CS5 in 32bit mode until Alienskin give me 64bit plugins. Tried to use FF from the Photoshop plugins menu and Photoshop hung. Tried a couple more times just to make sure. Much as I love FF, I"m getting a tad peeved at not being able to use the plugin in Photoshop. Perhaps I'm doing it ...

" I have been working with FF4.0 inside Paintshop Pro X7 for one and half years now (Win 8.1, 64bit). Filterforge 4.0 usually worked very well in this environment. I did have some occasional crashes, where I could never figure out why, but these happened seldom enough to not disturb too much. The great feature I discovered (and I heard that ...

  • Optimizations, 64bit native, CUDA support
... sure it wasn't a 5-6 year port for FF to come out with their Mac version, so I don't see that porting it to make use of GPU's would take any longer than Windows->Mac did. Well, Carbon and Cocoa are different entities. When Adobe had to make the 64bit version of their products, they transitioned quite well for Windows so they released that earlier than the Mac version. The Mac version took them a full year rewriting the codebase from scratch. I have no idea if that's just an exaggeration but ...

  • FF does not apper in Photoshop filter list PS 5.1 (CS 5.5)

But all attempts too solve this problem by myself failed. ...

I just think that saying "openCL" is like as empty of a thought as saying "64bit" on a thread about bacon and eggs. It doesn't mean you're right or wrong, it just doesn't persuade / direct anything. In general, I think this is all a natural progression of technology. I think its fantastic we're seeing all this stuff ...

I think that may be what keeps crashing it. I'm using the 64bit version set to use all 32 cores and to use up to 90% of my 64GB of RAM so it should be able to handle that kind of quick switching I would think.
