  • Random incomplete experiments
Author: ThreeDee. These three were actually used on a project, but there's no real variation options and especially Algae is very slow in render.

  • LAB#3015 Skybase
Author: Skybase. THE RETURN OF REACTION DIFFUSION!!!!!! IN RGB! RENDERS SO SLOW, YOU CAN SEE ENTROPY IN ACTION.

  • LAB#3015 Skybase
Author: Sharandra. Looks good :-) "Render times hit around 5 minutes per texture" Were you inspired by my filters slowness? :P

  • All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration
Author: uberzev. "How long does it take to render? " 6 Secs for first image. My computer is slow though...

  • Well, That's Just Crate! by jitspoe
Author: Rassilon. It looks lovely, but why is it so slow to render on a 3Ghz quad-core CPU with 8 Gb of RAM? Ouch.

  • Multi image codec filter - I'm stuck
Author: IONclad. Also, keep in mind that this filter the way it sits was rejected for slow rendering. Though, likely it's the noise component, so....

  • scattering objects
Author: ThreeDee. Oh, I better go fix and resubmit this since I already advertised it. Came back to me for being too slow to render.

  • water colour paper by DrEvil
Author: Vladimir Golovin. DrEvil, good texture! (a bit slow to render though).

  • Eye of the Storm by Betis
Author: SpaceRay. very nice example and good update ! Well done "Betis wrote: this filter uses NO anti-aliasing (otherwise these would all be slow as hell rofl)" This would not happen if FF would have GPU acceleration OR if the render engine was optimized and made better in some way so it would be faster than it is now, BUT regretably it seems that FF will not make any of this two things, so we still have to have a "slow as hell" program IF you want the have high quality ...

  • Filter Rejected
Author: Ramlyn. Hi Deathtop. I got a filter refused too when I was at the beginning like you. In my case the reason was that the filter was too slow ( it doesn't even depend only on me if a filter is slow, but on the rendering speed of every single component ). Anyway I simply thought that it was useless staying thinking about that. I kept that filter for my own use and I made completely new filters. You will see that there are many other reasons why a filter can't ...

  • Please help with the most mixed up filter ever.
Author: SpaceRay. WOW! This is really beautiful and very well done, and as you say very realistic looking. I have tried it and work not very bad, well is slow, but not so much than others. I would need to have a timed test and really see it render in full resolution and not in reduced preview. I can´t help in optimization as I do not understand how is built, so I am sorry that I can´t do it, but surely some of the experts FF here could be able probably to understand why this is ...

  • 40 minutes for render?
Author: jeromee. Hi I read other posts about slow rendering but should it really take 40 minutes to render a 5.53mb 12mp jpg using the analogue filter? I really like the filter but that seems so sluggish. I have tried it in CS5 and standalone with the same results. Thanks!! J

  • Realtime Render Checkbox
Author: James. I find the program slows down a lot when it's making the realtime previews, it would be great if there was a Realtime Render Checkbox so you could just check it when your ready to render the texture, this would make things alot faster when working i think :)

  • Beta 9.003 released
Author: Rachel Duim. Thanks for the list of fixed issues. Is the "MacOS-specific: Rendering is no longer slowed down on Hi-DPI displays" issue going to be fixed in FF8 on the Mac?

  • Bomber+ is very slow compared to reg bomber
Author: uberzev. http://i.imgur.com/kjeMsCz.png RENDER TIME: Bomber: 0.43 secs Bomber+: 5.74 secs

  • Nebulae in Progress
Author: Betis. WOW that looks good too. It's crawling slow though, :[ I wonder what's up with that... ... Well my Workspace Render Times would help!

  • Waiting on long filter processing. Force Quit or wait?
... arguments arise but most often it seems like SOMETHING can be done about it. Like I really don't see FilterForge being awfully slow. I see it doing it's thing at a pretty natural rate, and that's my experience in dealing with complex pieces of software ... ... limitations, hindered by market variability, code, and hardware limitations themselves. For example, on one machine 100% GPU render engines like Octane Renderer run smooth, where as on various other machines it'll hinder the entire system, and fail to ...

  • rendering
... the Beta?.. Why is that? This didn't happen on previous versions of beta software? Is it to purposely limit the experience perspective buyers will have, to only those few filters? (which happen to work fine). What about the other filters that render out really slow on the mac?(slow to the point of not even rendering at all and freezing.) There is no reason why you would limit server support?..It's a Beta... so it will still only have limited time on it's use (30 or 60 days to whatever). Surely for a beta ...

  • PosterOgre
... they just simply stop. i dont know if this was intentional or not, but if it wasnt, you might want to go back in and connect them up if this was important to the effects. also, the speed is a bit slow, especially on the anti-aliasing portion of the rendering. it really slows to a crawl on that. without AA on, it's fine; a little slow, but quite acceptable. it's probably the multiple blurs doing this. and, in the GUI, some of your control names are not very clear. you've even got one there that seems to have had the ...

  • Terrain Generator by Orteil
... it'll be hard for me to find what to remove. In trying to optimize this for my own use I've found no less than 15 nodes so far that aren't being used in the final output (not connected), which seems like a waste of time for a filter that is already slow to render. Maybe I'm wrong and unconnected nodes aren't calculated in the final result? Either way it makes it tough to see what's going on. Otherwise I love this!
