  • Photoshop CS3 problems
... http://www.dll-download-system.com. If the site is no longer available, you'll need to look around. After you download the "*.DLL"(file extension dll) onto your machine, copy it to Windows/System32 for a 32bit OS, or Windows/SysWOW64 for 64bit OS. Voila! You may need to register the driver with Windows, I did not and it works fine.

  • PS CS5 Plugin Not Working
... it wouldn't let me open it FF. I have tried reinstalling and also copying the plugin files from the standalone plugins folder to the PS plugins folder with no luck. It just stays grayed out and I cannot open it. I'm on Windows 7 and running PS in 64bit mode, I'm also using the latest release of FF.

  • Using lots of memory (I think)
... same amount of resources as version 6?" Version 6 came in two varieties: 32-bit and 64-bit. It would be incorrect to compare different architectures. But yes, FF 6 (64-bit) and FF 8 (64-bit only) consume the same amount of resources. " 64bit allowed users to use too much RAM" Oh, I completely forgot you can actually limit the amount of RAM consumed. It's another setting in the Tools > Options > Rendering window. Still, it's not RAM that makes the noise, it's your CPU....

  • What is the best and most important hardware for FF ? CPU ? RAM ?
... purely in terms of FilterForge I've been shopping around lately, the i7 is a good choice. 12 GB might be a bit on the high side unless you find yourself running very ram heavy tasks, but it can't hurt anything (except your wallet.) Definitely go 64bit windows. There are no drawbacks if running 32 bit programs. As for video cards, it all depends based on what you are doing. Are you gaming, doing 3d modeling work, or just using photoshop?

  • Unable to install Filter Forge 6.005
Author: ahoeltje. My older 32bit FF v6 will no longer run, says to download the new version. As it happens I also recently got email with a new license key for the 64bit FF v6. So I downloaded Filter Forge 6.005 from the download page. The file is a DMG. It opens and shows a "Filter Forge 6.pkg" but when I double click that file all I get is a never ending "Verifying Filter Forge 6.pkg" ...

  • Brush Engine Van Gogh by Rick Duim
Author: Rachel Duim. Thanks :D 20 minutes, yeah, sadly :| On my mac, older, only 2 cores, takes an hour for images that size. I've done up to 4000x3000. Yep, developed on an older Mac Book Pro. Have a more powerful Windows 7 64bit Intel 4 core that's very fast, but the mobile computing fits the lifestyle better right now. Yes, FF does use multiple cores. I will look into any speed improvements on the appropriate forum. The filter was inspired in part by Corel Painter and ...

... freeze here not occur CPU usage (i.e. not running any processing) nor extra RAM usage - both moments in calm. But for just in case im wait about 15-20 minut - the same nothing. Process just stop about 10%. FF standalone (not PS plugin), v5009, win7 64bit

... the ability to sorta zoom in or out from the center. If I see something cool in the middle of something produced in FF, I can't have move the focus in closer toward the center of the image. If only there were someway to convert a 32bit plugin to 64bit :-/ :'(

  • It Does Not Run at All With Windows 7
... "Shockwave wrote: Do I need to delete FF2 and then re-install or can I re-install over it?" You can overwrite your existing installation. Please download the latest version from our download page. "Shockwave wrote: Running 64bit Windows 7 and Photoshop CS4 " Is it a 64-bit version of CS4? Do you have Comodo or Spyware PC Doctor installed?

  • Brush Engine Van Gogh by Rick Duim
Author: Dave Sandilands. This is a great looking filter, producing very painterly images in the style of Van Gogh. I believe you developed this originally on a Mac? I am using Win 7 pro 64bit and I have a 6 core AMD cpu and 8Gb ram yet my first image with has filter has taken perhaps 20 minutes. Is this to be expected? I might add that I have just purchased FF4 Pro, which I've assumed from the sales details uses all the cores to speed ...

  • Looking for Flaming Pear Replacement
... Photoshop plug in filter that acts like Flaming Pear's Laquer. My staff has been using Laquer for many years for organic 2D lighting effects. However, it only works in 34 bit on Macs. I have just a little while until our environment is updated to exclusive 64bit. And it doesn't look like Flaming Pear gives a darn. I've downloaded the Forge Trial and experimented for about 10 minutes...will continue playing. I wanted to find people familiar with FP Laquer, and hopefully also find info on a like plug ...

  • Paint HDRtist: How long to render?
... requirements. Probably choked the computer and now it's locked up. Just to give you something to compare it to, I just tested the filter on a 3000x3000 image (limits of FF3 Basic version)on a desktop with C2D 2.9GHz, 8GB RAM, Radeon 4350 GPU and 64bit Vista. Came back to computer after 20 minutes and it was done rendering. I'll test it on my slower computer later today."

  • Gallery Download Issues
Author: jerikson. Well, I guess a 50% sale will bring out all of the dumb newbie questions... :) Anyway, I purchased FF Pro, and I'm using it as a plugin with Photoshop CS4 (32bit), on a 64bit Vista system. My problem is the "Open this filter in Filter Forge" doesn't seem to work. Initially it said FF wasn't installed, then it asked me to find the application to run. I told it Photoshop, and now whenever I go to the website ...

  • Can't download filters with FF 1.022
... now regarding downloading new filters. I've contacted support with no response yet so I'll post here. This is the error I'm getting: ::CreateFileW(error opening named pipe) failed with error code 0x00000005: Access is denied. Running Win7 64bit and photoshop cs4 extended 32 bit with the filter installed just fine but unable to download filters from the website and the filter I need isn't in the obsolete library browser. I really need this for a project for my job and it's put me WAY behind!...

  • Support For OpenGL,OpenCL,64 Bit
... something. Or otherwise that "supporting" it would lead to faster renders or whatever the misconception may be. So it just makes me think this forum thread should be appropriately titled, "Please make FilterForge Run Faster and Make it 64Bit" Not necessarily in opposition here, I think the legitimacy of the feature request is lost due to the questionable usage of the terms here. lol.

  • Some FF6.0 Impressions and Speed Tests
... ram and speed is wow fast. Of course my workstation is water cooled and the after burners do kick in but not for long. As for the render times they are a little faster. It's a Plus for Shure.. And FF will get better now that they finally went 64bit.. Now Please go GPU rendering, Please... FF would be so da* fast with GPU rendering, you would have render times so MUCH faster.... I know baby steps, baby steps, I can wait.... Michael
