How To install Filters on FF Beta 6.0

what is the reason that "Access to the server is disabled in this Filter Forge version."?
Why am I asking? I'd like to try some of the blur-heavy, less optimized filters from the library on the new 64bit version, but do not have FF5 installed on my office machine. Wouldn't it make sense to allow people to download library filters to test how they perform with this beta version?

... why, but upon installation, there is no option (checkbox) to have this load as a PS plugin - only as a standalone program... do I need a specific type of account? Basically it's a AI-driven, odd-ball painting program that ignores traditional "painting software" paradigms. It can do pretty crazy stuff but also can do regular painting as well. New version includes 64bit build for Mac which is nice. :D

Something that needs to be opened in Filter Forge should be opened in Filter Forge and not Photoshop. Please do the following:

Newbie needs help with 64bit win 7 & win xp 32 bit FF transfer
... is working beautifully (thank goodness!) From what I understand windows 7 home does not run xp programs, but win 7 prof does.
I am hoping that when I transfer FF2 over from the old computer in xp mode, then FF2 will not have any problems with the 64bit system because xp mode runs in 32 bit.

notice one is a x86 map and one is normal...
So to me it seems you have 2 x86 "aka" compatible folders..
I can get it to work in the 32bit version but not in the 64bit version no matter what i copy or do..

Author: SystmDamage. New to this, but thought I would post it (sorry if it is a duplicate). I'm getting an error on close...every time and regardless if it is from CS6 or the stand alone.
System Specs:
Windows 8 (64bit)

The error is "Filter Forge x86.exe - Application Error"

applying an FF3 effect to a selection
... 64 bit.8bf file and drop it into the photoshop plugins folder and the 8bf disappeared when I tried that. So I could no longer find that file.
So finally after reading your reply I wound up doing a reinstall at which point the installer detected my 64bit photoshop and I just checked the box next to that. It installed fine and did not loose my filters or presets. So I'm good to go now.

After I went to http://www.filterforge.com/filters/7227.html and clicked on the "Open in Filter Forge" button, a pop-up asked me what program I was using. I browsed to the Adobe/Photoshop CS5 64bit folder and clicked on the PS.exe file. I think that the (watercolor) filter should know where its wanted...but, nevertheless, it is NOT showing up!
Any other suggestions?

... The filter does not show in the plug-in, and I also get no error message. I emailed about this on the contact page on Monday but no answer yet.

Just to give you something to compare it to, I just tested the filter on a 3000x3000 image (limits of FF3 Basic version)on a desktop with C2D 2.9GHz, 8GB RAM, Radeon 4350 GPU and 64bit Vista. Came back to computer after 20 minutes and it was done rendering.
I'll test it on my slower computer later today.
UAC Virtualization and command line rendering
Author: primitivedesign. I noticed a few things while running command line rendering that I hope someone can clear up for me. The first is that there are 2 separate processes in the Windows Task Manager (Windows 7, 64bit). Both have the same name:

CPU 80-85% Memory 256MB+

CPU 0% Memory 576K
Is this normal? Should there be 2 processes like that?
