Purchasing v.1 to use Beta 2? Confused...
Author: Ellie. I just adownloaded FF (Beta 2) a few days ago and am going to buy it, but I have a few questions first:
On the download page for Beta 2 it says: "To use the beta beyond the trial time, buy Filter Forge 1.0 and get a free key for the 2.0 beta". So that means if I buy the Basic Edition to 1, I'll get to keep using the Pro Edition that I downloaded of beta 2? Does it not expire then?
Will the filters I downloaded already using Beta 2 not work in 1? Will I have to re-download them all again to use 1?

Well, there may be a reason why beto33 and me too can not download the filter, and it is that is not compatible with FF 9, so I think is for FF 10, and I still have not received my beta licence key, and maybe others will not be able to do it if the trial time have expired

I am not sure who you are talking to here but capnsparrow says she came across FF 3 years ago and I think her demo may have expired since then. I bought FF when my 30 days trial period was up. Knowing I could have extended it to 90 days and that other people do makes me feel ripped off too. :(

This is probably due to FF memory limitations. It seems to render fine at 5k resolutions for me, but beyond that it just hangs. I guess the only solution is to lower the resolution.
I have some ideas to improve the filter, but my FF trial has expired... so lets see if I'll have any luck with the reward points :)
Also I'd love to see what you've done with the filter.

Unfortunately my trial has expired and I did buy the 2.0 pre-order but haven't yet figured out whether or how I can continue using the trial until release, so I can't show examples. In simple (and perhaps technically incorrect) terms however, the reason I'd like to do what I asked ...

... newer versions then cause they have a timer in them and then you get a message saying you cant use this because the time has expired. I did find a version 9 online and took the version 11.2 off my computer and rebooted it earlier, then got distracted ... ... remember having a version years ago that did that as well but that was on my other computer.
So yes the new versions after the trial period you pay :( and it says on the web site this is not free software etc etc.

Kraellin I agree there are so many directions this could go; I had been dying to get back to this one ever since my trialexpired so no surprise that this is where I picked up. The latest mods are clumsy and can certainly be tightened up later. Thanks for looking inside :D

NOW the beta key wont work, nothing has been delivered, and its the 7th of april. :evil: ANOTHER week of waiting and wondering just what you guys could be thinking of.. only this time i cant use the program at all cause the free trial has expired.
honestly, i thought i was being a good sport by giving you money up front for this thing and expected something more than silence and frustration in return.

- continue working in FF1 (see below);
- ask for a free beta key for FF2 Beta that will allow you to use the beta after its 30-day trialexpires;
- uninstall the FF2 Beta (and work with v1).
Indeed, when you install FF2 Beta the filter download protocol is assigned to it. To override this and make filters open in FF1 instead, please do the following:

Author: Zephos. Ahaha ^_^ Sorry to be asking this question -- it recently occurred to me the whole time I've been on Filter Forge that I've never really prepared for what to do when my trial actually expired in regards to using the Rewards earned to get a full version of Filter Forge ^_^
I remember reading that there are email notifications in regards to the Rewards (Or that they were a future development), but I don't recall receiving one before ...

Like Carl mentioned, so far, I've seen all promising talent get the free copy.....in the worst case, their trialexpired for only a short time before they got the three HUs......so the current 'up to 90 days of extention time' seems to be working out......

Cannot run Filter Forge – the program is already running (Mac)
... different versions installed and do not want that the new downloaded filter is done on the latest version, then before trying to download the filter, you need to open the FF version you want previously.
This may be also if you have downloaded the trial, and it expired, so you can not use the latest version, so you need to open first the standalone version that you have the license
What version you have installed?
Do you have more than one version installed?
Maybe you have version 9 and the 10 trial?...
Automating filter generation and save
Author: Jade Skaggs. Great, sounds like there is a Mac solution, and that there is still some wanted functionality on the Windows side.
I have only licensed a Mac copy of FF, so I'll need to make something before my trialexpires. Maybe the nice folks at FF will see this as being worth some Reward Points so I can get a Professional version of FF4 for Windows/Mac (Windows to continue development, Mac because I want it and they are VERY nice.) :)

Just not happening....30-day trial is not enough time for most to learn program and create HU filters.....then you have to wait months for filters to go HU ... ... has to run back to back continuous discounts to make sales under the guise that the current "one-time" discount will expire (misleading sales practice, IMO).....and gauging customers for access to the best filters would, at the very least, force ...
