Is there a non-rotational tiling method for images?
... tiles. The principle works in theory also for finer tilings, but at the moment you will have to create those gradients manually. I think it can even be automated, but this will need more work.

... the library, since there's no way to do sibling shadowing. The clustering is all done in bombers, so there's no way to add in shadows automatically. Short of painting shadows by hand, I don't think realistic lighting is possible.

FF crashes with naming controllers
Author: GMM. Reinstalling won't help - you should clear the Recent Filters list first. If the issue persists, reset the preferences and/or remove the broken ffxml file instead.
Navigate to /Users/Your_User_Name/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 8/.
Recent Filters are stored in Recent.xml, preferences are stored in Preferences.xml, user-made filters are in the My Filters folder.
Can't Download Filters from Filter Forge
Author: madderhatter. Nope, that's the basic setting it seems, or at least it was already ticked. Yes no external protocol request pops. There's nothing in the extentions of the type ffxml, filterforge, or anything else, so unless you know how to add an entry manually which doesn't seem to be a thing, there's nothing to change.
Suggest a new filter.
... running windows 7, when you select "Save Target As...", navigate to your user account and open up "appdata--> roaming--> filter forge3--> my filters" and put it in that folder and make sure you change the file extension to .ffxml . you shldnt have to do anything else to it.
Can't download filters in 2.008
... experienced this before. If I download a filter in Filters, this does not happen.

... i can download a filter posted in the forums, directly to FF. today, on your link, uber, all i get is a web page with the filter .xml code. i wonder if that's related to the library pages being down at the moment. " No it's because I hosted the ffxml on my website. You might try a right-click download. :)

There is a Ctrl+L hotkey (or the Locate File menu command) in the main window -- not exactly what you'd like but very helpful for sharing files.

I can't get this to work. No matter what value I set for map_type in the ffxml preset the command line renderer always outputs a diffuse map. Is there some trick to getting this to work or another setting or something? Both FF4 and FF5.
New Scale Component?
Author: GMM. I can't find any differences on my machine. Do you see it in the Main window (not in Filter Editor)? Please connect your Scale to Result, save the filter and try opening it both in FF4 and FF5. If the issue persists please post the ffxml file here, there's much more in the file than you can see in Filter Forge.
FF3 Internal Error???
Author: GMM. No, this is the wrong Library folder: you need to navigate to
/Users/Your_User_Name/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 3/System/Library and delete the .ffxml file.
Please note that Mac OS X 10.7 and newer default to hiding the /Users/Library directory. To make it visible, enter the following command in Terminal:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Simply go into the filter properties and check/uncheck seamless tiling.
Problem Importing Filters
Author: uberzev. You didn't actually download the filters, just a bunch of links to them.
(A filter has the extension ffxml, the download links on the library are actually .ffcmd which are essentially links)
You may have to tell your web browser to open the .ffcmd file type automatically in FF so that the whole download process happens at once.

360 degree rotation
... one else got it yet. Here is rotatezoom2. It has full rotation and zoom. The cool part is when editing this filter just delete the image component and replace with what you want to rotate.

Maps in batch render?

Is there a list someplace which shows the Type # of each map type? i.e. Type 0 is texture, Type 4 is Normal.
Is it possible to generate maps other than normal via xml? (I know I could generate a preset for each type and then scan through the ffxml to find it, but if you have a link...)

If that is the case, is your suggestion to move all these to the trash bin because they are corrupted and then download the filters I want once again ?

Yes, I have been paying attention to the Bump channel in the render maps, as I expect that is the one I am going to want for output. The use of the noise component in your filter is one I have tried (see Get X, Y Britt.ffxml above) But the wrinkle orientation issue is still not on that has been come to grips with.
