... "Kraellin wrote: but how about an FF rendition? i would think a stretched perlin with maybe a threshold and set alpha to catch one portion and then colorize...or something along those lines, would work."The one I posted was done in FF. Here's the FFXML. Note this is a pre-release beta version.

... may find usefull... -How the actual shapes are extracted from the source maps. (I reverse engineered this 8) ) -Why you should use grey (not pure black/white) images as your source maps. http://uberzev.googlepages.com/FrameReverseEngineered.ffxml

  • Not Crashing, but,
Author: Vladimir Golovin. "Firemup wrote: When you change the name of a filter, shouldn't it change in application data folder also?" No, Filter Forge doesn't use the filename. To rename the filter, you should edit its .ffxml file. Filters are saved in XML, so you can open and edit them in any text editor.

  • Question about reporting errors
Author: Vladimir Golovin. moonrancher, could you please post that filter (Acrylic Casting.ffxml) here? It's simple: 1. Select the filter in the Main Window 2. Choose "Filter > Locate File" from the menu (or press Ctrl+L) 3. A Windows Explorer will open and show you where the file is 4. Attach that file to this thread

  • Force download of attached ffxml in the forum
Author: Sphinx.. It would be mighty cool if clicking attached filters would lead to download instead of text display of XML in the browser. :pimp: How to force the browser to download a file to disk instead of playing or displaying it: http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/creating/forcedownload.html

... Photoshop action that Skybase have told in the video tutorial As already told above, you can click on each of the three components of the action to change the settings and values IMPORTANT THIS IS NOT A FILTER FORGE FILTER You have to change the .ffxml extension to .atn to use it in Photoshop

  • Automating filter generation and save
Author: Morgantao. SR, FFCat has nothing to do with XML... All it does is read the FFXML files to extract info from them. The first released version stored the catalog in an XML file, but that was changed to a binary storage file (You remember, when you lost your catalog :| ). The program was written in C#.

  • Installing/Adding Filter?
... into Filter Forge 3 and it crashed FF. I contacted the creator of the filter and he sent me a "revised" filter with a patch (supposedly). The question I have is how to I install a filter NOT directly from FF's website, but rather as a .ffxml file sitting on my desktop?

  • Van Gogh filter crashes
Author: Daniel Sroka. Hi Darrell. Hate to say it, but I'm still getting the same problem: crash as soon as FF tries to render. I've deleted the original filter file, and re-downloaded it twice (Library_9817-2.ffxml) in both FF2 and FF3b, and get the same results. I've attached the crash report, if this helps.

  • Fast Button by Crapadilla
Author: Kraellin. when i first downloaded this one it was along with a number of others, so i never looked past the default preset that was shown in the library. so, i never saw all those other variations. pretty cool. it also got me wondering how ffxml files would transport into something like VB6. anyone know?

  • Submitted a bug report on this
Author: Bella. We've sorted it out. This is the expected behaviour of the program in a situation when a file is renamed while Filter Forge is running. It is strongly recommended to avoid renaming ffxml files manually. To change the name of a filter, better use the Filter > Edit Filter Info option in Filter Editor. The filename is then changed automatically.

  • Finding Out Filter Name via The Number?
..... another question (don't ya just love newbies? ;) ) I know how to find out what a particular filter's corresponding number is (via "find filter") Is there any way to do the reverse? Find out what the filter name is if I have the ffxml number?

  • Can' download filters
... may be still in the same spot but in IE choose "Internet Options"......Then choose to associate a file type with a program..(it may be something different in win8)...A window similar to this will pop up.. Look for the highlighted below....ffxml should be associated with filter forge...

  • Other sites with FF filters?
... SpaceRay. I have already searched if there could be alternative filter forge fan forums or websites that could also have filters or information about FF and I have not found any, I only found reviews and tutorials about FF but no filters. Searching for .ffxml in google only gives results of this forum.

  • Greebleville by Burt
Author: Burt. Thanks for the suggestion. I actually sent that in some time ago and it was just posted -I assumed it was too simple. I went ahead and worked on a bit better one http://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/a04/Greebleville%209.ffxml I will upload this seperate as some people may find the simple example easier to understand.

  • Van Gogh Flow by Darrell Plank
... a while ago on a separate forum. The version does not use LUA and the results are pretty much the same. So if FF is going crashy-doodda on you just use that. http://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/c57/Van%20Gogh%20Flow%20without%20script.ffxml

  • Copying FFXML filter files from WINDOWS library folder to MAC library
Author: SpaceRay. "GMM wrote: It is possible, the ffxml files are platform-independent.
