  • Offset Helper
... a smudge several times (since it is quite expensive) with different inputs - as if we had multiple smudges with the same settings. Skybase only showed one remapping/lookup - you can hook up as many as you want. Moreover the actual purpose with Burts challenge was to get something for horizontal/vertical offsets or similar (I think) I reckoned the distortion map (XY map) could be a step in the right direction. Burt - did you hook the X and Y channels directly to the bomber (where?) or how did ...

  • What's current status of Mac batch rendering options?
... gain access to the Windows tools is appealing, I doubt that I'd have much success. I'm old enough (74) to know that my brain does not work linearly and I have been so spoiled by the Mac--which I've used since 1984--that even navigating Windows may be a challenge for me. I'll try it, but would much prefer something that is native to the Mac environment. Scripting is like magic for people like me, so I don't even know how to offer an appropriate pay incentive. $500? More? I can pay via any of the normal ...

  • I got 5!!!
... mostly an expression of my obsession with texture and its efficient (and photorealistic) procedural reproduction. This is actually what keeps me coming back to FilterForge... for me, it's mostly about the fun of exploring patterns and texture, and the challenge of recreating them. Also, this is why I haven't stopped making filters after earning the 5th reward: FilterForge is just too much fun to not use as a creative outlet... :D :loveff:

  • Pattern Filling
... the first two) is always touching at least two existing circles. A fancier version would take into account the original image, it's lightness value or local contrast (detail amount) in determining the radius. This way it gets closer ot the original challenge.

  • What happens with the Tint of the bomber plus? is not included
... I still mostly use the normal Bomber. I also add that, if it was for me, I would have preferred a new Bomber with more plugs, instead of the present system. It would have been probably easier to use. But what is done is done. So let's take it as a challenge, and let's try to find the best way to use it. ;)

... All of QuickBooks' products and editions gather financial advice from businesses and provide them the option to obtain direct contact information for buyers and sellers, invoices and statements, and bank trades. Both large and small businesses find it challenging to handle daily accounting transactions and other entries, particularly when dealing with a variety of debtors and creditors. However, QuickBooks' highly interactive record keeping and computation process make it simpler and more convenient ...

  • Professional 3D artist jobs, portfolios and promotion or inspiration
... Joey Camacho that from what is seen, is a very professional, with awesome and amazing 3D artworks using Cinema 4D 3d software Apart from other things, he has made a project that involved making a different 3d render each day for a year, that would challenge his skills and help him learn and advance even more to reach more perfection in his experience with 3D and he called it "Progress before Perfection". On the main project page there are some icons that represent a month, click on a ...

  • New "BlockGlass" :)
... "slowness" problem comes from me being too detail-oriented and anal about everything.....making it consume more time than it should :) As I mentioned, I'm also trying to get a better and controllable bubble depth in my blown glass.....which has been challenging, but think I've just about got it..... And thanx for posting the links to those "CorporateCrystalGift" examples.....very useful in making comparisons and fine tuning to get it more realistic..... :) Where are you with the ...

... filter author, IMO. That's the 'economic' side of things, and out of our control. But we are interested in the creative side. Consequently, it really boils down to what YOU need to get your creative juices flowing. Take some idea/theme that interests or challenges YOU personally, then polish, polish, polish your little gem until the glittering becomes beautiful enough for passers-by to notice and pick up. And then polish some more. Oh, and did I mention the polishing? ;) Personally, I'm having the ...

  • StevieJ's PaintedMetal by StevieJ
... filters, but someone is downloading them....and a few have now become "high usage" filters. Things like this have contributed to my continued submission of filters. It would make my day to have one chosen as an 'Editor's Pick', but hey, the challenge is still there :) Good or bad, I appreciate all of your comments :) PS.... I have been posting test images just to illustrate filter capabilities. I don't post any of my fine art works that I sell or plan to sell. To me, they wouldn't ...

  • Those Noise Addicts!
... altered to what it looks when done for final render and 2- The floating windows take to long to render for a preview and 3- Anything larger then 1024 especially with the complex textures i tend to do it takes to long to render. This becomes a great challenge for me when certain aspects of software are lacking in optimization, amount of options and ease of use. It's hard because my fortay is about photorealism with the work i do. I requested that the limit of 3000 by 3000 goes beyond that but ...

  • Hexagonal Circle Tiling - New Snippet
Author: Lucato. "Perfect for speaker grills, bubble wrap, oven doors, and extruded aluminum" ahammmm, you saw my Bubble Wrap and was a new challenge for you to make them look hexagonal. hehhehehe :) Uber, now I think I understood what you meant about hexagonal in another thread. Congratulations! Nice job. By using tiles as I've used and as Quasi have commented above, doesn't make the result ...

  • Suggest a new filter.
... one like that? there are still lots of building ones that could be done. first one that comes to mind is vinyl siding. shld be easy. and how about a marshmallow filter? and we had some chocolate ones, but never done as candies. that could be challenging. or did jean do one as a box of candies? i think she did. how about ribbons. those are always in demand. doilies/lace? shldnt be too hard. we've also seen several water types, but i dont recall seeing a whitewater, moving water one....

... function. essentially every time you put in a number, you get another number, and I have to do the calculation at each iteration for each sample. I know I'm kind of over-explaining this but I hope one part or another makes sense. Anyone else up for the challenge?

  • Filter Catagories question
... opposite... putting good filters into the less popular catagories might attract an under-explored user base. ;) On a final note: knowing which catagories are most or least developed might also help. I'm sure there are some users who would love the challenge of creating excellent filters for the under-developed areas of the library. 8) Thanks for reading! :)

  • Sprayed Stars by Mardar
... inspiration in my simple filter. That means a lot to me. Skybase, I am overwhelmed(and overjoyed) by what you have done with my filter. I have just scanned under the hood and it is a bit more than I am use to, BUT I never back down from a learning challenge, so I will dive into this in the next few days and I will understand what you have done. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the suggestions and encouragement to improve on this filter. I may have some more question as I go along with this, ...

  • The Next Big Thing
... filters 'll be "converted" to the new playground (FFF). The "weakest" point of FF at the moment is the performance (even with i7 CPU) that slows down the experimentation and fun factor a bit. So I hope the new playground (FFF) 'll challenge the user to experimentation while retaining the good things of FF. So it would be nice if FFF: 1. is at least "compatible" with the existing FF nodes (from the outside) and huge database of filters; 2. has better (GPU) performance ...

  • Merge two filters
... does not allow you to connect the output of Root component (the only way to get "surface"-type filters) to any other components. This is a technical limitation of current rendering engine and is not easily to overcome (there are subtle, but challenging supersampling-related difficulties in the possible implementation, along with some conceptual UI issues). This _may_ be resolved in a future major version, with addition of separate shading components, but I would not hold breath for it. ...

  • Does anyone wants to suggest or make any new FF filter challenge?
Author: SpaceRay. I think I have another possible challenge coming from the image shown in the home page of filter forge It could be good to be able to have about 5 or 10 color controls to load your own images or photos and if wanted add to them a simple frame and scatter them as shown in the image ...

  • A way to make a Q*Bert style with 3 color cubes and with missing cubes
Author: SpaceRay.  WOW !!! WOW !!  I can´t believe what you have done !! This is really very good and looks excellent. You did not know it BUT my next challenge I thought was having a BORDER control around the cubes and have it like chrome metalic, and in this you have already done the border yourself and is already included :) Very well done and like it much, although in this one you do not have ...
