  • RESULT OF COUNTLESS HOURS OF FF EXPLORATION
... Thanks for your positive comments. Expansion on the work: This piece was created using one filter I created. I used a base image that I created in a paint program and then applied my FF filter. Obviously, it took quite some time to render. As for the challenges I faced: No doubt that there is much experimentation involved in developing a filter. Hours of trial and error. Understanding the subroutines of each component and their conjoined effects takes some time to understand. I have studied filters ...

  • "All our filter are belong to us!"
Author: StevieJ. Kraellin & Dilla, I agree with both of you.... There are 'big studio' people contributing filters just for pleasure and the challenge.....and maybe just to 'give back a little' of what they are getting from it ;) Like when an economy booms during war times, filter submission was rock'n during the beta period. After the beta period ended and all the free copies were handed ...

  • Lego Mosiac by Redcap
... works, but the lighting doesn't change the fact that the *shadow* is always in the same place (changing the lighting radically can make it seem to make it move a few degrees left or right of bottom center, but that's it). So, if yer into it, I still challenge you to make the block peg shadow adjustable a bit/somehow, and it need not be adjustable 360*, but at least 2-4 settings seems like a reasonable update request. Anyways, no big deal either way, they still look like legos, and now I can change ...

  • Coloring Regions
... too cool for generating height maps from kaleidoscopic patterns. :D Try doing the below example in FF, which is mainly created easily in Genetica due to a Regions node set to Best Fit Image providing the heightmap. The heightmap would be extremely challenging to recreate exactly with its smooth curved folds and hard paper edges, although it might be possible to fake the look with 2D techniques. Also note the accurate shadows processed from the heightmap. :D

... excuse me for even suspecting that the pic you posted was from FF ha-ha. :P Apparently Constantin is into it, I'm not sure if he meant he was quoting me to make sure it was documented and you (Crapa) could win a whopping $20, or if he wants to take the challenge ha-ha. I'll pay it if anyone makes a filter than can make a graphic like that, I just hardly think that's the point here, or that it's worth all the effort for $20 really. Anyways, I'ma try and not say stuff like that again ha-ha, it's that ...

  • Spread The Love!!! :)
... can I find it for download? Might you have a link? Oh, and I popped my head into your Retouch Pro forum, but had to sign up to look around, hehe. I didn't know you were a moderator. You have some nice pieces in your gallery :D Love to play with Challenges and noticed that you guys do that over there! I almost wanted to suggest something like that here in our forums. Not sure it's peoples cup of tea here though.

Author: Skybase. The style portrayed by the filter in question is somewhat possible via a tutorial I've made years earlier. It's a common cartooning style filter. However, the flat, bold, geometric look would be more of the challenge here and likely something that would be difficult to do in FilterForge at this point in time. The tricky part here is that we'd need to figure a method for simplifying and reducing the photo to the geometric look we're seeing in your last example....

  • Is curious that in all these years nobody have done a BARCODE filter
... surely meant that, for what he could see, the people who tried to use them to make something attractive at the sight couldn't get good results. Instead using barcodes, there are many nice and interesting examples. So, why don't we take it as a new challenge? Let's see if anybody, using the QR code as a base, is able to do something creative and nice to the sight.

  • Rip it up....
... use as an overlay, and solve the problem ? Or maybe even post some examples here (not that I myself can help you necessarily) so people can see what exactly it is doing now that you don't like, and what you would like it to do. Several FF regs take 'challenges' like that pretty seriously and might be of great help to you. :) jffe

  • How to get this with Simple Filter???
... you for the love :) "CFandM wrote: Are you trying to convert so you can use it in the Image result rather than the Surface result....If so the metallic might be kinda challanging to do." Yes, using the image result.....and yes, very challenging :) The "dirty" effects from lighting reflections are driving me crazy.....and don't blame Vold for refusing to use it..... :) "CFandM wrote: Then there would be a whole lot more to this filter..Just to get the height ...

....renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=61157), does anyone recognize that one ? And hey, if it isn't a Filterforge filter, what say we create a filter like that just to undercut him ? In fact, I think I'll call for a day of revenge here, and challenge all the other authors to make filters that do what his other stuff do, only for free here on Filterforge :)

  • Ah! Harddrive Space!
... wrong to construct something original and useful is very skillful, and it is sad when a new group of clonners comes to ff as is happening again because it seems to me to be lazyness and they miss the pleasure of self acheivement. Web design is my next challenge to learn and unfortunatly you've corrupted me into wanting to build a super computer the most I've done so far is change the Graphics card. Is partitioning a thing you should do [ mine isn't but I've got a program for doing it ]. You won't swap ...

  • Create your own 3D small planets with your panoramic photos

Thanks very much for trying to make a filter for this kind of things. • Foxxee's Cut N' Carved Gem And Jewels by Foxxee
Author: Foxxee. Thanks for your imput, jffe :) Yes, I am still 'fiddling' around with this one for that reason and at the same time trying to keep the 'carved' gems from looking too sharp :-p This was a challenge for me for sure, but quite fun and something I can and will use for my own artistic artwork projects, hehe. By the way, for the record, I would like to welcome anyone's comments and suggestions. And by all means, if you beat me to it... please ...
