  • 64 bit
Author: angelize. I realize that this is an old thread but was the 64bit version ever added? Xara has a wonderful 64 bit version now and there is such a lack of 64 bit plugins that Xara has made both a 64 and 32bit version available so plugins only work in the 32 bit version. Filter Forge as a 64bit plugin could really ...

... thought has went into it so it must do something cool but the rest of the industry needs to catch up with it - and it will. :) "Carl wrote: please don't tell me it's a disaster if it's the 32 bit version " I'm not sure about the 32bit vs 64bit thing. I think the only time it matters is when you have memory above 2GB. You need the 64bit address bus to get non-multiplexed access to memory over two GB. That translates into an across the board hit, even with XP, for enabling the memory above ...

Author: Skybase. "Then what??? " You quit using FilterForge and move on to a different piece of texturing software, assuming the 64bit version never comes out on time. Pretty sure that's one solution. :p right? Just hand paint your textures. Don't need 64bit for that. lol My gut says 32bit won't be going away that soon time given there are still programs making the conversion ...

... senile. ;) 2) You can have the best graphics card on the planet, heck THE UNIVERSE, it won't matter because FF doesn't (And never will, according to FF inc.) use any hardware acceleration solutions such as OpenGL, CUDA etc. 3) FF isn't 64bit. It can run on 64bit machines, but it won't utilize 64bit functions that would make it faster and more efficient. Also I can tell you that you shouldn't feel bad that you never got any reply from the support team (His name is Bob, I think :D ...

  • 64-bit progress? 32-bit Photoshop didn't do it or me anymore...
... 64-bit version). For reasons that I don't understand -- PS-64bit won't recognize 32-bit plugins. I'd call it a bug, but Adobe's $(%! doesn't smell, so of course it's a developer problem. If it doesn't integrate with PS-64bit, then it isn't 64bit compatible. Plain and simple. I know 32-bit apps run on x64 -- but just like 32-bit extensions can't be used with a 64-bit Firefox, I'd usually prefer a 64bit Firefox as I don't use the 32-bit extensions that often. I *DO* run out of cache memory ...

... taken to the final stage till I had the 1,000 I was after. In a case like this extra render speed goes a long way. If the batch renderer had made use of the $2k GPU I have, that time could have been reduced drastically. If the batch renderer had been 64bit then the dead time between images could have been lessened or eliminated. If the images hadn't been 200x200 and had instead been 1200x1200 that would have taken around a year to render. The images the initial filter generates take around 30sec-1....

Author: zigzag. I can't get this to ever finish rendering, after an hour and half I give up :( I've tried as a plugin with PS CC 2015 64bit and standalone in FF. I have 16gb of ram and an 8 core 3.5 ghz processor, windows 7 64bit. Image size 5360 x 3577 px. I've set FF to use 80% ram and all cores. In PS the progress bar never appears and in FF standalone it comes up but the green ...

  • 64bit ?
... no answer. So I just upgraded recently from v7 to 8, and found that main exe shortcut (in Win Start section) linked to "Filter Forge.exe", while in the same FF folder placed as well another variant "Filter Forge x64.exe" (i guess 64bit version of program ?). So, why main shortcut use non-64bit version ? And do we should replace default shortcut in win start section to x64 manually ?

Author: meyendlesss. Blender handles multiple cores very well. I don't know about qualified hardware... here's a link to the system requirements page. http://www.blender.org/features-gallery/requirements/ I'm using Vista 64bit and everything works fine. There is a 64bit version of blender, but you must download a .zip archive as there's no installer for it yet. I will probably stick with Nvidia when I get a new card, but I'm not sure which one I'll get. I won't have ...

Author: ddaydreams. Still buggy at higher res on some systems with some filters. For Hi res FF works best for me using FF in 64Bit Photoshop 5.1 I don't know if there's a difference with PS 5.5 that would not allow you run FF as plugin. • Does FF work on Vista 64bit?
Author: rilos. Thank you for your answers. Ok, I think it works as a 32bit-software on a 64bit machine, but it doesnt take advantage of the full power of the 64bits, right? @Miavir: what folders / files did you copy from the old 32bit machine to the new one and where did you put the folders in Vista64 ? I always have the problems that ...

... get better parts. I don't see much info about the parts in the link you posted and I'd feel uncomfortable not knowing what I'm getting as some brands are generally more reliable than others. I agree with most of that Kraellin posted. Windows 7 64bit is the way to go right now. I'm using it and actually really like it so far. Haven't had any problems getting software or drivers to work. Vista 64bit is good too and didn't give me problems either, but it's pointless to buy Vista now. RAM ...

  • About Studio artist 4.0 to 5.0 and developing software for Apple
... doesn't stop me from using it. I of course just deal with it. I submit bug reports if I must. As for SAv5 it seems like the development is going very well. It seems there are tons of new features to tinker with and some UI improvements overall. As for 64bit, there have been no promises yet, although I hear about a separate 64bit version with less features. But again, nothing specific. My plan's to continue using Studioartist just as usual, will upgrade of course!

  • Latest version for Windows Vista / windows10
Author: rilos. Hi friends, i have an old PC with Windows Vista installed (will not change it for some reason) and would like to know what is the latest FF version available, running on Windows Vista 64bit? I also have a laptop with Windows10/64bit - i guess it will run FF v.10? Is there a version that runs on both systems, so win vista and windows10? I have 5 reward points and would like to run FF on both systems if possible. Didn't use it for quite ...

  • 9 MONTHS with this bug and still without a fix, solution or news
Author: Morgantao. I'm not really into programming, and don't understand much about 32bit vs 64bit applications, but from what I've been told, a 32 bit application can't use much more than 1.5GB of RAM before crapping out. While FF uses a custom memory manager, it still uses pretty much all it can being a 32 bit app. That means that without ...

  • Request: GPU acceleration (CUDA and OpenCL)
Author: Grimbly. Lol, Evergreen Requests :) I agree, FF could definitely use a GPU upgrade now that it has 64bit available. Coupled with my proposed node debugging tools/nodes we could make super huge, streamlined, efficient filters, and I feel like these 3 features would correctly align FF to move well ahead of all your competitors. With 64bit, GPU, and debugging ...
