Off-line library
Author: rikardr. Also, it would really help if you could download the filter files onto your desktop (i.e., the ffxml file). That way I could download filters from any internet computer and then put them into my filter forge.
FF erased one of my saved filters!
Author: uberzev. The program crashed saying it was out of memory or something. When I relaunched it says the filter is invalid. I then looked at the ffxml file in notepad and its empty!
Good thing I remember how to remake it!

Please be more specific: where on Mac? You need to put this filter into /Users/your_username/Library/Application Support/Filter Forge 2/System/Library (for Mac).

Yes is was. Since you can only render presets I made a script that generates an ffxml with a hundred presets and a script to generate the batch.xml.
New in Progress - Nodes
... slower but what's cool is it lets you choose your own unique image for each "element". The elements are 4 turns (up-right, up-left, down-right, and down-left), 2 straights (up and down), and 1 cross.

I found out what directory FF was using by editing a .ffxml
file in
c:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Filter Forge 6\My Filters\

Author: angelize. I know nothing about coding or FFXML so this may not be possible but what about a way to import a vector file? I'm thinking a SVG file could be exported from many vector illustration programs but perhaps I'm asking for the impossible?
Could Filter Forge have an EXTERNAL render engine ?
Author: GMM. In theory, why not? The ffxml flter format is open for parsing and interpretation. So, you can hire a development team, and after several man-years of programming and several hundred thousand lines of code you will have the engine that you wouldn't call slow ;)

Still has proper extension, but opens as text in FF.
Cracks that radiate from a central point
