  • Total beginners request turn white into transparent
... and need some help in creating a filter. I am a complete beginner. I want to remove the white background of some music compositions of mine so that the white background becomes transparent. Could some kind soul out there please assist me in this challenge. Thank you. Paul. Here is an example from one of my piano pieces. I want the white/almost white background removed to become transparent so that all I have left is the music notes etc.

  • Filter Forge still down?
... on it" as an answer, leaving the customer/forumite to wonder what is actually going on. A more descriptive answer as such lets people know you are not just sitting ignoring the problem and gives them an idea of the extent of the troubles and challenge you face. Good luck and I hope things run smoother now. Heh,heh... rotten corpse living of it's last remaining customer... GoZombie.com was a terrible web host anyway. PS... the Filter page seems to be working now. Thanks.

  • Other Interesting Ideas
... been done yet (to my knowledge) is a filter that works like responsive or flexible web layouts, that is, certain elements retain their size horizontally and/or vertically while others stretch or tile. Since FF is not pixel-based per se, it is a bit challenging to create such filters: It requires some scripting to keep elements fized to the same pixel size regardless of change in image dimensions. But some pixel-based implementations have already been done. So how about some full-out flexible-layout ...

  • Giving back to the FF Community
... take this opportunity to give back to you all by offering you the game for free. You can download and play it for free here: www.qvgames.com (www.qvgames.com) Enjoy, and let me know what you think!! ~Geoff P.S. I must warn you, it's very challenging.

  • Nine Men's Morris (playable)
Author: meyendlesss. Thanks ronjonnie. I'm known by more than a few people as a 'Different folk' ;) I'm not really sure why I made this one, let alone why I submitted it to the library. I've had a bit of a challenge with myself to see what kinds of games are possible in FF. Tic-tac-toe was the first one I did, but only submitted a very simple version. Maybe I just have too much time on my hands. Has anyone played a game of this yet? It's a very simple ...

  • Unexpected web image
... that emulates the same effect, I don't know of any filter that is demolished as badly from the tilling as this one -you can get sudo effects similar but that particular layering is lost - maybe some one else reading this can have a crack at it - it's a challenge, and I might be missing a simple solution. Sorry to disappoint you ron  I'll keep trying :)

  • Repper Type Function Using FF Engine
Author: Rachel Duim. After more investigation, Cairo tiles are a challenge, but I think I can do it. Bomber+ is not the way... this is for transformation tools. This link on Aesthetic Cairos (http://www.tess-elation.co.uk/cairo-tiling/aesthetic-cairos) illustrates both the solution and the difficulty tiling pentagons....

  • Projective Transform (Four point transform)
... mapping images onto 3D surfaces unless you mean doing this inside FF in some way, although FF does not have 3D surfaces. Sorry if I am telling perhaps silly things here. As Sphinx has put already, this is related to this other thread Quadrilateral Challenge by uberzev (http://filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10373)

  • just some odd images here and there
... sketch thing i put together recently, but it's not real good yet. and i certainly havent forgotten that set of sketches you posted in here. those were good and i'd love to be able to duplicate that with a filter. i kinda doubt i can, but i makes a nice challenge :)

  • Gabor Noise
... gather it is an edge detection method using sine waves from: http://graphics.cs.kuleuven.be/publications/GLLD12GNBE/ I might have stumbled upon this method a while back and came up with this: http://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/f33/Challenge.jpg Any other information about this method or examples to add? Nice one raabix!

  • GF Seabed Explorer v3 by Ghislaine
... Roberson. An EP and HU ranking prove this to be a great filter. Looking at it just now, however, one thing did catch my eye. The caustic lighting on the seabed does not appear to follow the height differences on the seabed. Personally, I see it as a challenge to open the filter up and try to make some changes to see if I can do something about that, but before I do (and since I have not checked on newer versions) I thought I'd mention it to you. I'll post anything I come up with in the forum and ...

... background making machines ha-ha, maybe you meant you had trouble finding backgrounds, or had to *look* for them a while back, but these days, no way, come on ha-ha. I enjoy the (background) kind of abstractness though, if anything, it's a bit of a challenge to find some (different) combination of modules that make some kind of *random* looking stuff that isn't too crazy looking, and isn't too boring/patterned looking. Plus it caters to my lazy cracker jack prize style of experimenting I guess. ...

  • Dilla's Scripting Blunders
... only getting one revolution (or segment) of the spiral plotted, i.e. it does not spiral towards infinity or zero. I'm guessing there must be some mathematical reason for it, but currently I don't see it. In case anyone less mathematically challenged than the current me feels like taking a look, here is the filter:

  • Filter Forged photos of the Linden Community Team
... somewhat of a side-mission to find filters that emulate or even better the effects found in other plugin packages on the market — Filter Forge is a much better bargain, comparatively, so I'm thinking it's both: (1) an interesting engineering challenge and (2) compelling to boost sales, once more people realize: "Why buy Plugin X when you can have Filter Forge for just a little more (or free, even) and so many more effects to download?"

  • Off the Deep End with ThreeDee
... ThreeDee. And now for something completely different: I got this idea doing the Halloween Party Drink filter. See -- the strangest ideas give birth to... even stranger ideas. Lathing a custom profile in FF! Gotta admit, this one was a real challenge. I decided at least three times along the way it was impossible. In fact, it probably is. Nevertheless, the solution eventually arose. Here's an example: http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj296/Three_Dee/LatheTest_bottle_256px.jpg ...

  • But why
... think that taking the "CyberGlow" filter.....then stretching, slightly distorting, contrast, and sharpen will give you the thin-fingered electricity.....then you have to figure out the separation and blend to get it to form-fit in the image. Challenging....but can be done.... I would suggest posting your progress and getting feedback as you go. I can envision how to do things, but the actual implementation may be beyond my skill level in some areas like separation. I'm sure that skilled ...

  • batches for all
... in the XML. So I guess that why it works the way it works. I could rewrite my script to take in multiple images... sadly I have no time whatsoever in the near future (and it will take quite a bit of rewriting). But if anyone wants to take on the challenge, the source is here (http://xp-dev.com/svn/ffbatch/) (I can give write access on request).

  • Seemingly simple challenge
Author: uberzev. Generate a curve or gradient map like the one seen here... http://i.imgur.com/1ZNCr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VT2lP.jpg Rules: -Random -Periodic (tiles properly) -Angles vary -Up/Down/Up/Down pattern (every time) -Every point in unique vertical position -Possible for "valleys" to be higher than "mountains" -Horizontal spacing mostly homogenous. My solution to the problem involves a cell noise, checker, and a profile gradient. But I wanted to...

  • Petoskey stone
... hexagons are nearly the same size with the beatiful texture! And do not know if the lines (grout) in between can be resized and keep all right So maybe I think that it can be improves and made it more like the real petoskey stones So it can be a challenge to see who can make an even better filter That gets more closer to the real images shown here above

  • Aqua Buttons Galore by Crapadilla
... under countless names like Kirby's Avalanch, Dr. Robotnic's Mean Bean Machine, Puyo Pop, to name just a few). Well, Puyo Puyo is more blob than gem like -- but those kind of games leave a lasting impression on the youth ^_^ Seems to be quite the challenge to develop a new name Aqua Buttons Galore -- needless to say, it'll be an excellent filter regardless of what you ultimately decide call it ^_^
