  • Bricks Component... how?
Author: Lucato. Hi folks, by using Bricks Component we get to use the 'Bevel Width' slider to bevel the bricks. I'm wondering how we can bevel the mortar instead? Maybe It's a new challenge and also a suggestion to FF team to implement a 'Bevel mortar' slider in the Bricks Component. :) I tried a lot of combinations with others components and etc, but I didn't get any result. Anybody has some tip to share? Thanks in advance ...

  • Snow by m0jo
... use shadows to find places where snow should build up. But then you need to offset .. and then you have a problem due to perspective (which the Lifesaver doesn't have that much). So finding shadows and then finding a way to shift upwards is the challenge I think.

  • Kurts Concrete
... looking at the 3 examples you supplied am I right in thinking less pitting, with more size variety in that pitting is what your after :) Hi Lynn, thankyou for your encouragement, it interesting to do something to someone elses vision it a nice challenge :)

  • The Fire Challenge! Feel the burn!
Author: John Michaud. Yeah! Insert fire related cliches here! So heres my first attempt at a flame generator, im trying a different approach to generating a filter here, since before i was relying heavily on the 3D feel and lighting that the surface filter provides. Mainly curves, blends, alphas, distortion, and a lonely perlin noise for the smoke. I plan to tweak this quite a bit, but heres a WIP. credit to uberzev and voldemort for the idea :)

  • Need a water texture.
... I try, either looks like really good running water or really bad standing water. I need either a good example of standing water that I could try to make my own filter off of or I need a really good standing water texture. If anyone is up to the challenge...

  • UBERZEV collection of available unpublished amazing and great filters
... and can be interesting to learn something I found another filter that is not something great as the above ones but is curious https://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/ecf/Quadrilateral%20challenge%20Threedee%20images.jpg Quadrilateral Challenge (https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10373)

  • Create random colors shapes that are not repeated nearby?
... colors are repeated and is good what it can't be is that when there for example red in one square then no one of the 4 neighboring square can be red. " Ah ok. I think then Rick has the right idea. Although it would be a nice little extra challenge since you currently have a bunch of random colors now... what if you just want 8 colors?

  • Paint HDRtist by lipebianc
Author: Skybase. OOO a challenge! And great homework material for SpaceRay! haha... DIY man! Try it! Actually, for this filter to accommodate alpha layers it'll probably need a major rebuild if we were to do this effectively. We can easily throw in a threshold with alpha ...

Author: Lucato. "Actually I was thinking of this more as a challenge to all. I think that this could be fun, and I'd really like to see what others can come up with. I know we won't be making a "Terragen".......well maybe, who knows? Nice ideas, feel free to build on the filter" - Nice idea, let's ...

  • Does anyone wants to suggest or make any new FF filter challenge?
Author: ThreeDee. I just suggested this in another thread, maybe not the simplest of challenges, but here we go: Make a flexible-layout filter that retains certain elements at a specific pixel size regardless of image dimensions. One example comes to mind: A ruler filter (or snippet) which measures the actual pixels of the image,...

  • Borderlands 2
... available. Total no-brainer that this was going to be a 0-day classic! :D On a sidenote: Between taking the time to read and reply to the incessant ramblings of recalcitrant community members, the trials and tribulations of software development and the challenge of leading a company, one wonders how you manage to also add gaming into the mix! ;)

  • Damaged Concrete by Carl
... is that built in as a control" another good idea :) "Kraellin wrote: i'd be more concerned, though, with the render time. 12 minutes is a fairly long render for a single texture" Yeah, this definitely looks like an "Uber Challenge" to me.....any chance of getting him out of retirement??? ;) :D LOL..... :)

  • Perspective Distortion, is it possible?
... image on the left into something as shown in the right image. The middle one shows where I am so far, and it seems I am not even close. With offsets and gradients, I would always get 'curvy' distortions, not straight ones. Anyone care to take up the challenge? :D

  • Challenge 3: Super fine control tiling
Author: uberzev. This should have one slider that lets you choose between 1 and 100 tile rows/collumns. The "Tiles" component offers this level of precision but won't allow you to use a smaller version of your source image as a tile. Here's my current best attempt which only outputs odd numbers of rows/collums... http://uberzev.googlepages.com/OddTiling.ffxml Its important that the tiling not flip or rotate the source image.

  • Feature Wishlist
... obviously. I might have missed some script filters, so script authors: please check if your solution has been overlooked! This brings me to an another idea: What about an 'Open scripting problems' wiki page that collects yet unsolved scripting challenges and tracks the community's progress in tackling them?

"Carl wrote: You've encoded the cat pic with the tree pic but to make a decoder to get it out again that is a challenge - hats off if you can acheive that :D " So far I've only made the decoder, the encoded image is from the wikipedia article.

Author: ThreeDee. Always ready for technical challenges! • 3D Spectral Art Glass
... filter.....and the facetts from your "Gems" filter.....so all you need is the translucent (not tranparent) depth.....which you can get by refacting multiple blend scratches like in Dilla's "Shark Tank" filter. Are you up for the challenge??? :dgrin: LOL.... Carl, the same thing.....you basically already have the components done in your existing cement filters???

  • Just tossing up 2 challenges
Author: voldemort. I was tinkering with a matrix themed filter and was curious what the rest of the community could produce Im sure my efforts can easilly be surpassed I can see people enjoying a filter like that http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/4443/matrixeg0.th.jpg (http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=matrixeg0.jpg) Next Im curious if any one can produce a tunnel perspective --Ive made some attempts but never been able to figure it out :D

  • Help +1/4 image in the node, how?
... Square) by changing values in the curves or gradients I get the result image as the same size too. I mean, not only 1/4. If It is bigger than 1/4 would resize the final image too. Anyway thanks a lot for your help, It will help me, and I'll leave here the challenge for any one. ;)
