  • Wishlist: Render All Render Maps at once
... conventions. If you're making a lot of textures, it's a hassle to hand-name everything. I'd much rather be able to name a folder, tell it that bump maps always get an "_b", spec maps always get a "_s" suffix, etc. and just let it render out. (Pshop's batch rename filter is pretty good UI-wise.) Anyway, great program!

  • Good job with v6
Author: SpaceRay. "DeFlaminis wrote: Very good job with v6 of FF. Can't believe how fast it is compared to 5, it's like night and day. Keep up the good work! Now we just need a batch renderer GUI and FF has basically got it all. Kudos! " 1 - Please, what computer do you have to work with FF? 2 - Could you be so kind to show a comparison difference between render speed in FF 5 and FF 6 using the same filter and settings?...

  • Override map_type in config script.
... being able to override the map_type variable in the config.xml section " It rather depends on ability to specify the map_type in the filter preset itself (or am I missing your idea)? You can create many presets per single filter, and set the batch renderer to render all these presets in a row. Considering that the filter file is a plain-text xml, you can edit it manually (outside Filter Forge) much quicker than updating presets via the GUI.

  • Question about buying Filter Forge/batching in 6.0
Author: GMM. Certain resellers, for example DAZ3D and MacUpdate, still sell the fifth version. However their sale price may be not as attractive as ours. The built-in batch renderer (https://filterforge.com/more/help/Miscellaneous/CommandLineRenderer.html) hasn't changed since version 5. There are third-party frontends for it – please check the External tools section here (https://filterforge.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page)....

  • [BUG] Commandline renderer crashes (Staff: Fixed)
... directory there are .fpo (?) files installed. In the FF 5 directory there are no .fpo files. I tried to copy the .fpo files of FF 4 to the directory of FF 5 : same result. Seems that the installer of FF 5 doesn't install everything (?) or that the batch renderer of FF 5 is corrupted. Before upgrading to FF 5 I removed FF 5 beta (in the official way) and installed FF 5 release after downloading from the download section. Should be the latest installer (5.006).

  • Batch GUI Tool for Windows
Author: aba. Hi dovoto, When I change the location of my FF-exe the batch tool opens at the preferences page, after a warning (of two) that it cannot find the executable. Then I can change the FF command-line renderer executable (change button) to the desired executable. It has to correspond with the version in the select-box on the same tab. I'm sorry but I have not enough information to see what is wrong. Could it be user-rights? Maybe you are the first ...

  • Feature suggestion, time/life saver.
... something that would be the icing on my Filter Forge cake. I know that there are not so many texture artists like in Substance Designer for examp,e but FF still has a far superior quality and that would gain attraction to other users I bet. Creating a batch render by hand is way too much work for the casual user undless you create a GUI for that... which brings us back to what we actually wanted ;)

... image. ( ...I did have to use the "selection" and "copy" functions in PS -- but it was still useful...) (Hmmm (?), maybe, ...it could be even more useful if FF could be used as a plugin in After Effects or something (e.g. in batch rendering for animations, etc. ...) … :) ).

  • Batch GUI Tool for Windows
Author: SpaceRay. "Mardar If I make a load of tiles in someones filter and then batch render them, will the filter author get credit for it? I wasn't sure if it is directly connected to Filter Forge counter yet as it is in beta. I hope the author is getting credit." As far as I know when you use FF Command Line Renderer, is the ...

  • Newb Here...
Author: Skybase. FilterForge doesn't tie into those programs you've mentioned. It's pretty much designed to produce filters and generators for Photoshop. But with that being said, you can easily animate filters by adding several params and doing a batch render. Check the wiki out see if this helps you. http://www.filterforge.com/wiki/index.php/Animation In any case, depending on complexity, FilterForge (as much as it's a giant toolbox) doesn't always suffice. After Effects is a perfect key for ...

  • Opening multiple instances of Filterforge
... your cpu, give or take, so once ya solve that problem, it should be no sweat. :P Really though, I hope they get on the ball with the pc version soon, especially after that last update failed to do much of anything that I can tell. There's no way that batch rendering could take all that long to implement, I mean we're not talking about anything major, just a few things like that and the folder arrangements being customizable, mostly geeky stuff, unglamorous and thusly way easier to code. We're all still ...

  • NEED FOR SPEED!!! :)
... gain on optimized apps is closer to 80% gain, so not quite a doubling of speed, but still worthwhile. But my gladdiction to Filter Forge is certainly a compelling reason to get a quad-core compy! Really slow filters would be useful with some sort of batch render too, the thing you could let run while you get a cup of coffee. :)

  • Batch GUI Tool for Windows
... tool to get the results I want AND have same filter and make it render in different resolutions, different presets and with different possible source images and the only thing I have to do is just configure the tool to do what I want and then run the batch, and I can go away and do not have to keep waiting anymore FOR EACH ONE of the images to render to be able to see the result and then make another one. And many more uses that this tool can be used This is a great timesaving and FF user lifesaving :)

  • Epic image rendering question
... because of the lack of 64bit support? I guess another thing that's bothering me with this is that the pro version, which I have, claims to be capable of rendering 65k x 65k. Is this only an option in the standalone version and not the Command Line Renderer? Is this some limitation of Aba's Batch Tool which I always use for the CmdRenderer?

  • PBR setting nVidia-Iray
Author: Totte. "We'll implement a proper GUI batch render after we release Projects. A project file will provide a natural place for storing the batcher settings. They have no place in .ffxml, and we didn't want to invent a separate file format just for them." My plan was more in the way of FFBatchMaster,...

...... which brings us back to what we actually wanted " I also completely agree with this sentiment. Hand creating a batch to save just a few files (~20) isn't going to happen for most users. Author: SpaceRay. "Grimbly wrote: I did find a bit of a workaround for it for now at least. If you copy the FF7 library folder in the AppData folder and label it as FF6 then redirect the batch tool to use the FF7 CMD Renderer it seems to work just fine. ....jpg", Result path="D:\result.jpg", and your source files are stored in the C:\Source\ folder. Here is a crude Windows BAT script that will copy every file from the Source folder to D:\1.jpg and sequentially process it with the command-line renderer: FOR %%i in ("C:\Source\*.jpg") do ( copy %%i D:\1.jpg "%ProgramFiles%\Filter Forge 7\Bin\FFXCmdRenderer-x64.exe batch.xml" copy D:\result.jpg C:\Source\%%i-result.jpg )

  • Proper batch tools = instant FF4 upgrade
... to apply the current filter settings to every image in that folder and have it saved in another folder and this is already possible in FF 3.0 As I have said in my previous post above here I have just done this Mini Tutorial for using FF filters Batch render with Photoshop Actions (http://filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=10640) to let know how to do it if anyone wants to know.

  • Will FF could support multi layers ( as photoshop)
... filter to render in the middle of the process of stacking the filters, and so this way would be wrong, because if the stacking would be made right, you do NOT have to wait until the previous filter is finished rendering because then it would be like batch rendering and not like stacking.
