  • How about a weekly challenge from developers
... filter forge, but now in 2013 that there is a much growing promoting done through facebook, I think it could be a good idea that to promote even more the use of FF, the FF team could suggest and motivate FF users from facebook and the forum to suggest a challenge that could be made with FF. It could be weekly or monthly.

......just picking a few here and there to polish up and submit..... I do have a couple that I've been working on from time to time.....of no personal use to me, but solely intended to achieve an "elusive" Editor's Pick....my last personal challenge here ;) :D

  • Metal Stuff 2 by ahimsa
Author: ronviers. Thank you MysticBlueRaven I will sign up for that today. I was looking at the textures and materials at kmkreations, I'm still not sure what the difference is, it seems like a big challenge is going to be how to give credit where credit is due. Do we just grab these textures and materials and never mention who designed them? Is the difference that textures tile and materials do not? Are textures and tiles comprised of the same ...

  • Looping Animations Challenge

  • Retouching (Blemish Be Gone!)
Author: xirja. Thought I'd start this challenge and/or request some advice on how to remove wrinkles, spots, and blemishes. I started with this CC image: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Iranian_beauty.jpg and used my yet to be released 'Wrinkle and Spot Remover' filter to try and ...

  • A way to make a Q*Bert style with 3 color cubes and with missing cubes

  • Tech Floor Test Images
Author: Neil Blevins. Thanks ronjonnie! CorvusCroax, I'm sure they COULD be made entirely in ff, I just think it would take a really long time, and as a production guy, I've been trained to look for the fast shortcuts :) If anyone wants to take up the challenge, I'd love to see it. I have seen some pretty impressive filters out there. And yes, worked for blur back 8 years ago when it was a small shop. Now it's HUGE :) - Neil

... of those inputs from anything else than controls or static. For example offsets that needs to be different depending on border size (the bolts). And yes, I'll think I'll move the swords and daggers over, but it was fun doing it in FF1, much of a challenge it was (Yodaspeak), and no, not working on a light-sabre, yet,,,

  • Hyperbolic Polygonal Image by Ramlyn
Author: Ramlyn. Yes, I did it. He! He! Thanks to you for re-proposing the challenge. Long time ago, I made other attempts of hyperbolic filters, but the results were not good, so I didn't upload anything. This time I thought "Ok. Let's work on it and try to do something better". :D :D :D I am also thinking ...

... version with two more digits of accuracy." Dang, I was so close! My best attempt to correct the issue was changing the Start of the bias curve to 0.8 :) "The distortion of the image may be a good thing in some cases -- think Euro cobble challenge" How do you think I got to the image I posted above? :D

  • Autopsy by Ipsissimus
Author: Miavir. "Ipsissimus wrote: 've take that as a challenge Big grin ... but finally I've found a way to get rid of the black edges." Hmm, you've removed the black edge all right,... but it looked more, umm 'nicely' gruesome before, the veins in particular ;). At least for the main preset, did ...

  • Let the deleting begin.
... Crapadilla wrote: I haven't?! ... *nervously fumbles through his notes* ... Ah well then... just do a little one-trick-pony and I'm gonna be right at it! • To create or not to create (simple filters)
... that "digital scrapbooking paper" is a good foundation to add some grit and character to make it look more organic, and feel when you apply it and combine photos with it. Fun stuff, fishfuzz! Filter Forge itself is easy to get into and challenging to master. I think that says a lot. Ask for needs here that are desired to be filled... some are bound to be very simple ones!

  • The Meaning of Life by Carl
Author: Carl. I'm glad you asked StevieJ - typing is the curse for the digitally challenged computer illiterate like myself and having slaved over a hot keyboard to tap out a meager paragraph or two the tabs decided slam shut - re-opening puff message gone -another 15 minutes of my life I won't see again - hence having to re-write....

  • "Reflective Hearts" -- this is crazy
... that I don't like artificial limitiations I forgot to add that I just love all other kinds of limitations - and to find ways how to circumvent them. So when you wrote somewhere that in the current version to create hearts is not possible I just had to challenge that ;-).

  • Bomber that would depth Z combine particles?
... opaque and 100% transparent (alpha = 1 or 0) regions are all good (that is why I had to hard mask those edges with the threshold). And if you have to do semi transparent blending, do it onto the particle before the bombing.. Post your progress and challenges here and I'll help out if possible ☺

  • Directional Cross-Hatching
... Franklin example above is only somewhat based on contours and is partly based on image lightness as well, being done in an artistic rendering mixing contour and lightness. This is also very similar to etched plate techniques used in making paper money. A challenge, I'll see what I can do.
