  • Thank You To The Filter Makers
Author: Crapadilla. Appreciation is always appreciated! ;) :D "DownTheShore wrote: I am on a website where there is a weekly challenge to take an image and reinterpret it as creatively as we want, and I am having a great time applying your filters to the images as a jumping off point and playing around with them from there." Care to share a link with us so we authors ...

  • Variable-Size Tessalation
Author: Skybase. No, that was all directed at ThreeDee before he pulled out the solution. Haha. Thought it'd be a fun challenge. It really is. The method above is pretty much the same method I used back in 2012 to get this: http://filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/6a3/Fragmentarium5.jpeg The results above were a return to those... and kinda accidental while ...

  • Suggest a new filter.
Author: Kraellin. here's a challenge for ThreeDee or Uber or Crapadilla or anyone, for that matter. how about a paper airplane folding filter or an origami filter. both of these would be such that they'd be a representative flat piece of paper, but have the fold marks for where ...

  • "SpectroEdgeGlo": Too close???
... that's actually a good idea with the cup and rose having a bit of a flaw. in the filter i'm working on now i'm using the cup pic and i keep coming up with that area on the handle being something i have to deal with in the filter. makes an interesting challenge at times.

  • Carl, Kiss My Glass :)
... Well, you're going to get them.....alot of them :D .....glass, blown glass, art glass, frosted glass, slab glass, glass frames, ect.... I'm in the middle of trying to figure out how to get realistic bubbles into my blown glass filters.....very challenging.....but I will find a way :D

  • Challenge 2: Radial Blur
Author: Quasimondo. As the headline says - try to build a radial blur (radial or circular) with the current toolset. I don't know if it is possible, but it just might - I'm currently thinking in the direction of first using a clever offset, then do a motion blur and afterwards try to revert the previous offset. But I haven't yet found the correct offset maps to achieve this.

  • GF Cartoon Faces Creator v2 by Ghislaine
... competition is opened ! You must create another one Funny Faces because v1 is coming LOL. Yes, I think that the curve control gives more possibilities for the users. One of them, with this filter, resembles to your Tiki. But yours are more cute. :) I Challenge you to create a Tiki filter. Then I'll be able to present my Tikis on the monsters thread. :D

  • Filter Forge update 1.013
Author: infiniview. This is an area I am unfamiar with. Other than going waaay back when command line meant "dos" to me anyway. So what does this mean to the user? I have been getting strange behavior due to what I am guessing is memory challenges. As it appears that FF is constantly trying to render something. Does any of this address that?

  • "All our filter are belong to us!"
... studio' people here on the forums contributing filters." Well, certainly there are, but they would be legally prohibited to share studio work, naturally. IF we see them contribute, it's likely going to be PRIVATE contributions for pleasure or challenge, which is absolutely fine with me. That is exactly what I'd do if I were still working at a big studio... ;)

  • Hyperbolic Tiling Challenge
... "complex plane" math. " I don't know how to do this without scripting, and it would take days to write the script. Even making a fake version with actual hyperbolic tiling (but without going into infinity at the edges) would be quite a challenge without any scripting. I will be amazed if someone does it.

  • Filter Competition :)
... :dgrin: LOL.... "Crapadilla wrote: I'd stay out of these competitions anyway, unless they had some really interesting topic AND a titanic leather sofa plus loads hand-signed cushions as a reward. " I'm sure FF would come up with something challenging that you couldn't resist ;) :) .....and is that free copies of FF on disc with everyone at FF autographing it??? ;) :D

  • Too Many Bug Reports
Author: Mojo3. Hey Colorblast, I am a new user of Filter Forge. I started using the version 4 standalone (beta) and I actually find that version very stable, especially for a beta. I have hunted bugs as a challenge to try to get the version 4 for free, and I can tell you that I had a hard time finding any bug at all, even easy stuff like spelling mistakes... Hope that helps! Cya

  • Electrical Field by Carl
Author: StevieJ. Carl, I was just thinking that this one would be super-popular by getting the elctricity more realistic and form-fitting. Here's a pic of real lightning which is easy to make. The challenging part is getting it to appear form-fitted just over objects.....but I think that I have a way to do this.....combining a mod of my "PerlinArtWorx", separation of Uber's "self distortion", and displacement (form-fitting hover) ...

  • Wave sound 1 by Lucato
... "uberzev wrote: It might work to take the output from Quas's filter, blur it, and then add a gradient map" Hey Uber, I've tried couple ways but I didn't get to make the wave has the same thickness in all its course. Maybe it's going to become a challenge for you guys that are a little crazy with these components combinations. :) I gave up. Anyway I'm sending an update with the grid option.

  • Working on Shapes Tutorials
... you were showing me. :D I will be trying your example filter so I can get use to connecting all the components and begin to understand how this all works. I'll be looking for your next installment. Thank you again for doing this for we "filter challenged". :D ;)

  • Playing around
Author: MysticBlueRaven. " Gorgeous place!!! Smile " Thank you very much Steve, this is only of the places I love to visit. "great picture, lynn! would you mind if i used that on retouchpro in the art forum? it would make a good challenge pic for others to do art pieces on." Thank you very much Kraellin, I don't mind if you use the photo. I hope they will have a great time using it :D :D

  • Suggest a new filter.
... $20 on it, that pic above (top of this page) is NOT from an FF filter, it's just too clean and the colors/textures are too close to each other to be done in FF just yet. Someday maybe, FF V4 ? :D Hasn't he posted stuff like that before though, like challenges, or foreshadowing stuff he's working on. :P jffe

  • Suggest a new filter.
... the resizing of a frame. I.E. If you put a frame on a picture and connected a slider to the frame and a different output it would resize your image so it fit perfectly into the frame. That would be 1) difficult to do and 2) Extremely useful; so the challenge is out for however has the brains for the task.

  • batches for all
... redirected https://ffbatch.sjeiti.com to the new http://sjeiti.github.io/ffBatch/ Oh wait: I see what location you mean. I'll go and try redirect that as well. I'm still working on the generic input image (webapps not having direct access to file system is a challenge). A ColorInput with an image does already work: just drag the image onto the color swatch.

  • Looking for Flaming Pear Replacement
Author: Debster. Yes..32 bit. :) Thanks! Excuse my artististic, but tech challenged ignorance. I see your link, but not sure what to do with it! I create photorealistic images for product advertising. Very undulating and organic most of the time. Figurines specifically - ladies, Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, animals, tractors,...
