  • Alphabet ANY Font Texture Creator Basic by SpaceRay
...? Or something that's really "designed" and fashionable rather than just bombing letters out? See, to me, this filter needs to seriously evolve. It needs to become cooler but it just can't because it doesn't know how. You need to seriously challenge yourself and move on beyond doing something simple like this. Chapter 3: The thing about it all. It can improve. Every aspect of it can improve. Remember, push forth, rebuild, and take a good look at what you make. Rebuild again and ...

  • Gosper Island Challenge
Author: uberzev. Pretty simple fractal... (it seems) http://i.imgur.com/ptQzI.gif http://mathworld.wolfram.com/GosperIsland.html http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=Gosper+island http://library.thinkquest.org/26242/full/fm/fm11.html BTW there's some numbers you need... Scaling: 0.377964473 Rotation: 0.0530739038 This is as close as I've gotten...

  • Scripting: Pipe Component
Author: Sphinx.. Hmm.. interesting challenge.. IIRC ubersev made something like this once (for FF1), it must be somewhere on the forum (called Pipes or Pipe IIRC) I guess the trick is to figure out neighbour compatibility. For a given cell, you look at what the neighbour cells support ...

  • Viscous by ronviers
... faces.....from devils.....to evil clowns.....aliens.....transformers.......you name it......and I think people would definitely use it alot. It also wouldn't take much work to add head and ear shape controls on it ;) :) Hey, you have a new challenge here.....get lifetime upgrades, eh??? ;) :)

  • Image Cube by ThreeDee
Author: paulcopeland. G'day ThreeDee, what an awesome filter. This is just what I need. Now here's 'ThreeDee's challenge for the day :) Create a version so that the user can upload four images, one for each side of the cube! That will keep you busy for at least half an hour :D Best wishes and keep up the great work. Paul.

  • Pipes by Mongoose King
... lots of possible combinations and even more if you count that thankfully you have activated the "allowed images" so you can load your own images to be wrapped around the pipes as texture. Congratulations, you are the winner of the pipes challenge after 5 years of FF.

  • Snog anyone
... varation, I can see it needs a lot more work, started fiddling and have ditched the "lips to lipstick mark" slider it can't be both and concentrating on marks only, for something that seems a simple shape and effect has turned out to be a big challenge [ at least for me ;) ] Thankyou, very helpful 8) :)

  • Filter Forge user base and product promotion
... SpaceRay. i think that FF could improve the marketing and make much more than just keep facebook users and as I agree that this software is unique and awesome of what can be done but a pity that is let down in some things like documentation, tutorials, challenges, how to really be able to combine in the right way the components, and more things

  • Chaos Fields
Author: Rachel Duim. Look familiar? Yes, this is FF generated. Definitely not ready to go, but I made major progress today in both the UI aspects and the color mapping challenges. Thanks to CFandM for insight into how to zoom into these infinite things. Long term I would like to add additional Mandelbrot variants a la FRACTINT.

  • Submit Images with filter?
... way the filter works right out-of-the-box, no support images needed. I don't know whether this is by (Vlad's) conscious design, but the support files "limitation" certainly forces you to be as procedural as possible, which is a welcome challenge in my book. 8)

  • Suggest a new filter.
... scales and ray shapes with numbers attached. Circle or square shapes .... " This does not sound hard at all... when you look at FF2's new polygon components. ;) Although numbers???? Now that's gonna be like making fonts in Filter Forge :D a challenge!

  • SpaceRay´s Lab and Forge - For tests, experiments and varied things
Author: SpaceRay. After some time I have these fractal things here to show This has been possible thanks to uberzev showing the way to do Fractal Tesselation Challenge (https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10317) and although the filter is not available he showed a screenshot of how should be done and I have modified it a little.

  • Auto Collage V0.3 by ThreeDee
Author: emme. This quick modification should work correctly on any image size. The external images should still be in square format though. There's no way (I think) in FF to read the dimensions of external images, so that makes it challenging for the cropping to work nicely with non-square ones. Also note, that the external image placement should be set to top left.

  • Candlelight by Indigo Ray
Author: tigerAspect. Just to be contrary, I recreated this with entirely V1 components (in V2 admittedly, but it'd be the same in V1). The HDR colours make things a tad simpler, but they're by no means integral to the effect. ;) The biggest challenge was getting the shape right without the Polygon component, which is impossible to get exactly the same not that I actually spent much time on it.

  • Texturing Challenge: Build this texture!
... think the rest of it is pretty close. I probably will start adding controls (for color, amount of distortion, tile size, # rows etc) and an option between a more gritty look and the current scratched floor look. Thanks for the critique :) I took this challenge because I wanted to learn more about the noise components, kind of a weakness on my end.

  • UBERZEV collection of available unpublished amazing and great filters
Author: SpaceRay. I have updated two of the filters made by uberzev http://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/ad2/Cuberism_Grid_Colors_SpaceRay.jpg Cube / Isometric Challenges (http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10182) http://www.filterforge.com/upload/forum/upload/1c3/Refractive_Balls_new_double_shading_SpaceRay.jpg Refractive Balls (http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=14&TID=1798&MID=122548#message122548)

  • Spiral Gradient by Crapadilla
Author: Sphinx.. That drill mode gradient is a good challenge :-) right after -- Convert spiral gradient map to 0...1 range spiralGrd = spiralGrd - aa_zone try adding spiralGrd = (spiralGrd - radialCoordinate) / 4 now that "4" is just some quick normalization constant - I'm sure ...

  • Help me create a hexagonal tile filter please
... KGtheway2B. Bit of info: You're not going to get true hexagons AND seamless tiling* *With a square image ;) I'm a 100% game texture guy when it comes to FF so I never really pay attention to non-square cases. Nice detective work there Corvus, next challenge: figure out the tiling for these same hexagons, but rotated 45° CCW ! mwahahah

  • Upcoming EULA changes, round 3
Author: Vladimir Golovin. "StevieJ wrote: as an author, I know how easily someone could get around it..... " Please post it, right here, as many ways as you can -- I'll cover it in the EULA. EDIT: Everyone, consider this a challenge. You find a way how to get around the limitations outlined in 4.1. Definitions, section "Insubstantially Modified Image", I cover it in the EULA.

  • Getting this to be an addon in photoshop?
Author: Krystal. I've been trying to download the trial as a photoshop cs4 plug-in without success. It's making me feel more and more challenge, but I cannot figure out how to add it as a plug-in. Could someone help me out here? I'd love to try and use it before I buy it without issues. LOL. TY
