  • Sloppy Borders by JE Strange
Author: JE Strange. Cool guys, glad you like it. I had a lot of fun AND challenges with this one. :) There's also Sloppy Borders 02 (waiting in the submit queue), which gives you much of the same thing, but with a white outside border and black sloppy inlay that's commonly used in traditional photo labs.

  • Celtic Weave (Flat) by jffe
Author: jffe. "Carl wrote: maybe you could make a surface version? :) " ----It pretty much looks like crap then, ie = see someone else's old attempt at using the Uber weave snippet for that purpose. Besides, where's the challenge in making a 3-D looking surface filter, come ooooonnnnnn. :P jffe

  • Creating Filters are not enough
... Gretchen" for wanting to keep 5 for the lifetime updates award.....but I put some effort into achieving it.....and want to keep something to show for it......even though I can afford the program. It's kinda like my little trophy for succeeding in the challenge ;) :D LOL.....

  • Sharing Noise
... it very quickly and found a way to make it, and also explained it. It looks very good and well done, and is really different from the one above, and I would never have done it myself. Thanks very much for making it and glad that I made you a challenge :)

  • Pseudo Script Challenge
Author: xirja. I was hoping :D Oh dear, if you're bailing, I know I need to make it easier. So, supplanting the initial graphic, the revised challenge is to use anything to make the following image without using any noise components (implicit or otherwise), bomber, script, or external images. Sphinx?

  • Another easy challenge
Author: uberzev. Generate a curve or gradient map like the one seen here... http://i.imgur.com/zf6Tx.jpg Rules: -Random -Periodic (tiles) -Each column has a unique width -Each column contains a straight linear gradient :D PS I don't have any idea how to do this!

  • StevieJ's Lab :)
Author: StevieJ. Thanx Opal, glad you like them :) Embedding air bubbles/spheres is pretty easy.....embedding more complex 3D forms is turning out to be quite a challenge.....well, to do it without being so slow it takes days to render....but I will get it....damn it!!! LOL.... :hammer: :loveff: .....

  • Gothic Chapel by ahimsa
... :dgrin: LOL...... "Carl wrote: I can be serioiusly nice, it's my new image" Grasshopper :dgrin: .....the key to true "cheekiness" is to do it pull it off and enhance the "love" at the same time....are you up for the challenge??? :dgrin: LOL..... :) :) :)

  • Art Abstracter......
... saw it....and I'm intrigued by the possibilities of where you might go with it!!! Man, your ideas are giving me truckloads of new ideas.... My head is about to explode :D I wish that I could get paid to do this because it is so interesting, challenging, and enjoyable.....but it's not helping with the bills.....yet!!! :)

  • Filter request thread or challenge thread
... CFandM. Here is another challange..I don't have any picts but they can be searched for..I was going to do this a while ago but then start doing others instead. So how about a filter that strictly creates rims for cars and such...May not be exciting but a challenge none the less.....

  • Ornamented Ball by inujima
Author: inujima. Thanks for all replies. :) "Sphinx. wrote: Suggestion: make the metal overlay stuff not flatten near the ball "edges", but bump out istead (like the look you have in the center). " I will challenge this problem. Although it is difficult to give the completely right reality, I have some ideas about the method of deception. :D

  • Beta 2 Gallery
Author: Carl. "Skybase wrote: Are you using Linear Dodge " yes ........... working on orange tint ;) and smoke [ which is a challenge to relate it to the flames ] :) "Totte wrote: Nope" I had to wonder with your obscure 80's aussie pop culture reference, Peter Garret is still a tossa :D "Kraellin wrote: thanks, carl!" happy to share ;) :)

Author: StevieJ. I "double-dog-dare" Dilla to make an an "Alphabet soup" / "Alphabit Cerial in Milk" filter.....with letters jumbled and askewed from each other......from the concept started by Mousewrite's new Cerial filter ;) :D :dgrin: ....... I would try to do it.....but I'm just a Padawan with that type of curve work complexity ;) :)

  • Stretch by Corners by ronviers
Author: Carl. "ronviers wrote: I sure would like to make a high usage one. " It's a challenge and crapadilla is atuned to this far far more than me, clever photo enhancement rather than pattern or textures seem to have a bit more a shot at highs but thats just my opinion ;) :D

  • Landscape by byRo
Author: byRo. Thanks, Lucato. Actually I was thinking of this more as a challenge to all. I think that this could be fun, and I'd really like to see what others can come up with. I know we won't be making a "Terragen".......well maybe, who knows? Nice ideas, feel free to build on the filter. :D Rô

  • Inspirational ideas with images and videos for creating filters in FF
Author: SpaceRay. ThreeDee and uberzev have already shown that making his is already possible in the forum to make this fractal tesselation but never was told how it is done as the filter is not available Fractal tesselation Challenge (https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=10317&MID=111686&sphrase_id=4744164#message111686)

  • Lightning Striker by bfogerty
Author: Skybase. It's clearly a start I know, if you don't mind me I'll just drop off a friendly critique. First off, it's a nice start. The colors and stuff are great. However: it basically lacks detail. I know this is going to be quite a challenge but what about having the lighting strike fork or branch out? That's what I got I guess.

  • Alphabet Texture Creator Extended by SpaceRay
Author: Skybase. "Good challenge but the problem is that I do not like most of the Serif letters if it is going to be used in an artistic and graphical way, like for example in this filter, or to make typography art. " You're just finding excuses not to do it. ...

  • Van Gogh filter crashes
... on my quadcore Mac. "Height" was the first, and was brought to the attention of the developers back in March. Thus far there is no word on progress or any communication to mac users that these filters should not be downloaded. I wonder how challenging this stuff gets.

  • Let the deleting begin.
... first submission to the Library and my joy at it being "included". By the third acceptance I suddenly realized it had nothing to do with the merit of my work, everything get accepted. I found (and still find) this disheartening. There is no challenge, no incentive to make a "better" filter. But I also do not want to discourage exploration in FF either. As per MY original suggestion: Split the library into 50 (and growing) EndUse Filters and put the remaining into a Development ...
