this is an old request but i'm bringing it up again in conjunction with a new idea. the old request is to show what size a file is going to be saved as while saving it, or just before. if that slider at the end of the save could also show the file sizes as you move the slider that would be very helpful.

the new idea is to be able to save to an external location, like, saving to the gallery here on these forums. and that's why the file size is being brought up again. the FF forums allow for a 250k file size for images. retouchpro.com allows only 100k and i'm sure other sites allow for other file sizes. so, being able to save to an external location, like the web, and being able to set the jpg compression and thus the file size, would be a handy combo. (god, i'm lazy smile:) ).

It's unlikely that this feature will be implemented into Filter Forge. First, Photoshop already does that -- its 'Save for Web' dialog shows the file size and allows to preview the compressed result immediately. Second, this feature would be used mostly by the users of the stand-alone version (as opposed to, say, a rendering speedup or a new component, which are beneficial for both plugin and standalone users, and therefore are a better way to spend man-hours).
