I'm generally a clean worker, and I love to work with in one window. So instead of pressing the "Filter Editor" button and have a completely separate window open up, I'd rather see the editor within the Main UI. Think of it like Apple's Logic Pro or Garageband. Initially, when Logic became Apple's new product, Logic's interface was separated and made into multiple windows. The Apple team then cleaned the UI up to fit it in 1 window. Garageband too is also in 1 window. In fact this "one window" interface is a new sort of clean UI thing that's being applied to a lot of things, like tabbed browsing. Photoshop turned to a tabbed editor too when they realized it saves space. So why not FilterForge?

Multiple editors? Might work....

yeah, i've suggested a tabbed browser before. it would also have the extra advantage of being able to offer the various versions of FF easier. for the Pro version, you simply have all the tabs. for the next version down, you simply remove the tab that handles those items and for the next version down, you remove another tab and set of abilities and so on down the line. certainly sounds cleaner on paper smile:)
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
