Result slave components disables scaling

I'm using the result nodes advanced slave components (Image Width, Image Height, Pixel X and Pixel Y) along with the Scale transform, and something strange is going on - scaling has no effect at all.

What is going on?

I think I reported this as a bug a while back, but it is "by design"

So, a pixel coordinate sent by Result travels down the tree throug all components unchanged, and encounters a Pixel X slave. The slave simply looks at the sample call it received, sees that the call has a data package addressed to it, reads the package, extracts its contents (the coordinate) and sends it to its own output unchanged.

Given the way it works, it simply cannot be changed by distorters.

Uh, I feared something like that. It would be nice with some documentation on that part.

If it is true, it takes away a great deal of the potential of those slave nodes, and it would be better if the slave nodes were real components in the "External" category instead (perhaps just one called "Image Properties" with a parameter that selects which property you want).

Vladimir says it is technically feasible but he can't give any promises on implementation (as always). Still it's not outright rejected smile:)
