I think we just need to wait. Sometimes planned features need to be dropped because time factors, other times not. My guess is that we will find out after the dust settles with grouping and looping.

I agree with you that we just need to wait and see what happens, and is true that sometimes planned features are delayed because time factors, BUT I have seen that the last news that Vladimir Golovin gave about this filter manager have been 9 MONTHS ago in September 29 2012, and then in January 2013 said that it would not include a change to the presets. And was going to be released in FF 4.0 Beta 2 but it did not appear, and there has not been any comment or news about why it did not appear and is not known if it will be included in FF 4.0 Beta 3. And this is why I have put in the previous page at the end the following
![]() And also would like very much, if possible, that the filter list is not fixed into just one scroll column as it is now and could be expanded if wanted as shown in this example here above |

News Flash - New research shows that programs don't develop themselves, just as dishes don't wash themselves. Dr. Michael Bogus from the University of California explains in his paper for Nature that, "Programs simply don't happen. They need to be developed over time after careful planning and execution. How long it takes is a matter of complexity, sometimes it can take years before development finally ends."
Also in the news: SpaceRay impatiently waiting, hyper agitated by the "newsless" situation; consequently recites forum quote wondering if anybody read it. ![]() Bonus points: Patients! Maybe there might be news tomorrow! Until then, do some art, spend time finding the meaning of life! |

Sorry that what I have asked may have been misunderstood.
I just and only asked if this filter manager is planned and confirmed to be included in FF 4.0? I did not ask when is going to be finished, or when is going to be available and have not requested for any release date, as it really this can´t be know and I do not care waiting for this. JUST want to know IF whenever this filter manager is done will be included in FF 4.0 or not, that is all.
Did I say something about this? of course that I already know that there is a programming development team behind everything done to FF, and that it takes time to make it, and never thought that was easy or simple to make. And I do not know why you say this.
Sorry to say that I am NOT impatiently waiting and even less I am in any way "hyper agitated" and I am calm and relaxed, and not nervous in any way waiting for the news, and do not need to happen it urgent, and I put the 9 months quote as it is already a long period of time without any more news.
As said above I can be patient and do not mind waiting until whenever FF team can be able to finish this, just wanted, as said above, that if whenever this is finished, is surely going to be included in FF 4.0 or not, I mean if they are going to wait until this filter Manager is finished to release the next Beta, OR another future beta, or in the final version And thanks for the suggestion, is true that it can happen anytime, and is better to focus on other things that CAN be done now instead of things that you do not know and can´t have any control over it.
I am already learning to have more patience and waiting for it, and as said already above I do not mind WHEN is going to be finished, just to know that it will be included in FF 4.0.
The ONLY reason that I have put this same thing and inside a quote, is because it has changed the page, and I doubt much that anyone will go the end of the previous page to see the last post with the question. Sorry much if this was a bad thing, I did not want to harm or do it intentionally in a bad way.
OK, I will not ask anything else about this until there is an official from the FF team that could happen anytime now or in the future, I will wait patiently.

I'm just putting my stab of satire in your forum post. lol.
Yeah see, you might be calmly writing all of that down, but, all I get is a forum post to work out your feelings and what you're thinking of. And look, the fact that you bold phrases like "9 months ago", then writing specific dates down when Vlad made commentaries, then saying "...and there has not been any comment or news about why it did not appear and is not known if it will be included in FF 4.0 Beta 3." to me, sounded like you just couldn't keep your excitement down ![]() Keep your writing simple. Ask questions. Don't bloat / sensationalize your concerns. Don't repost questions and expect answers, it's something that should be avoided. If you can do that, you'll have less misunderstanding in the future. Those are pretty common forum manners. And back on the topic: The wiki has some answers for you (nothing specific of course): http://www.filterforge.com/wiki/index...er_Browser They're labeled green meaning "[4.0] Features that are confirmed for the next major release are color-coded in green." [Edit] and to be fair, I'm very excited about how it'll turn out too. But might as well wait for the official word! ![]() |

Yes, I already thought that was like a joke as the one from ddaydrams ![]() ![]()
Sorry that I do may not be good to express feelings and say things in a right way and that they are misunderstood. Yes, I agree that putting this "9 months" in bold was not needed and does not help.
Thanks, I will write this in a paper and have it near when writing a post to remember it and follow your suggestions. And I will think twice before writing and littering a matter
Oh, Yes! This from the wiki must mean that this is most surely that it will be included, sorry that I did not see it before, or I did not remember. ![]() |

Now I have been thinking in something that I think may be important
In the new Filter Manager will be possible to have the SAME filter in different folders or categories? I mean If I have the Filter "Cristal", could be able to put in Favorites folder, Glass folder and, Realistic Folder? Or you will only be allowed to put just in only one folder and limit much how you can organize the filters? Mayber it could be possible to make one original and then links to this original in other folders. |

I ask again if it would be possible to have the same filter in different folders.
I have another example, some filters purpose is to make frames, also other filters have frames, but these frames are not the most important thing in the filter, as they do other things too, so it could be done a category folder that could included all the filters that make a frame and keep the original ones that this is not the main purpose in the corresponding folder. MAKING FILTER SHORTCUTS FOR DUPLICATING? In Windows desktop you can have icons that are a shortcut to the main application (or any other thing) so I thought that for being able to have the same filter in different folders it could be possible to make a shortcut of the filter. Is not needed that the filter is the real one, I mean that there could "copies" of the filter that instead of having the filter, could be just a link to the original filter. An easy answer will be, just make copies of the filter and put then the same filter in different folders, but this is not a good solution and fix, because the problem is that if you make a copy of a filter it will loose all the author reward and also looses the possibility of being updated by the FF library, so this is not a good fix for this. |

I have another idea where this duplicated filtering could be useful, and this is if you want to organize filter by Author and by category, I mean if I want to put all the filters I like from my favorites authors in one folder (or have a folder for each one) and also organize the same filters in their corresponding folders that belong to their category.
