Currently (v3) FilterForge stores the downloaded filters on the boot drive, which is on Windows 7: "C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\AppData\Roaming\Filter Forge 3\System\Library"

I just came across this issue, that I've upgraded my machine with a new mobo and processor and an SSD HD, hence a clean Win install as well. And as usual, I forgot to backup my downloaded filters (...since I store all user relevant data on a separate data drive, so I don't have to mess with backing up important data when needed.) Sure, they still exist on my old, mechanical drive so I'd need to hook it up again and copy the filters, then hook up the new drive again. But it's a pain.

Power users usually always have two drives (at least), one for the OS another for data, etc. If there were a way the user could specify where the downloaded xml filter files are stored, then they could be placed on the data drive rather then on the boot drive. Not to mention, by default the ".. .\AppData" folder is hidden on W7.

Now that you have your filters in a custom directory on a different drive, if you rebuild your system, get a virus, you name it, your data drive is not affected.
