in one of the betas the nodes did show a name, or at least a number. i always thought that was a good idea, especially when you wanted help. you could just say, 'take a look at blend 01A' (as opposed to the blend named Blend 01B).
there have been several suggestions for similar things, though. one is the whole memo/rem thing, which, if i remember correctly, includes the whole 'pushpin' idea. and yes, groups would have a name. (actually, now that i think of it, i think pushpins were for moving lines around).
myself, i dont really need the components named, other than having a bit of a small tag on them to distinguish one similar from another. groups and memos, that's another matter. and i also know that some of the larger, more complex filters like 'playing cards' is one mad romp when you try to sort out what's doing what. so, certainly not against naming components either. but, i doubt i would use it much either. i already balk at having to name my controls

If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
