The Library Browser has become an obsolete feature of Filter Forge.
Alternative option is Librarian.
Librarian is FilterForge AND Library Backup version dependent.

Taking one useful built-in feature away (already not fully functional for the search feature is not working) and offering a costly additional two-products alternative is not very considerable behavior.

Even if there's the desire to split one product in two I'd think Librarian not to be FilterForge and Library Backup version dependent would be the fairest alternative. I cannot imagine it's impossible to design an older version of Librarian capable of reading any version of Library Backup as well as adding filters to any version of FilterForge. If library folders (-structures) stay the same, that is.

Three products not totally version dependent to coöperate would allow to make use of Librarian and Library Backup more affordable: users could stick to one version of Librarian and only update FilterForge and Library Backup for a couple of times before also upgrading Librarian. Afterall, not anyone who desperately would like to, can actually afford keeping so many products up-to-date or going for an even more costly perpetual license.

IF Librarian is insisted to be Library Backup version coupled then selling Librarian as well as Library Backup at first glance looks odd as well for both products have to be of the same version. However, this way allows buying two Librarians for two computers sharing a Library Backup via a removable drive or whatever...if that is allowed license-wise. I'd rather see both products to be sold as one product with one license and license upgrades to be offered for extra copies of the Browser or Backup modules. That would be a less confusing approach.

Personally I wouldn't benefit from changes due to my perpetual licenses but it feels so wrong against other users who cannot afford keeping three products updated or buying a perpetual license...while an internet connection independent access to the filter library could be of great advantage to them: either due to an access issue or costs issue.
