Perhaps Filter Forge can have a free "player" version of the software that only runs filters that have been authorized.

If I, the developer, upload a specially encrypted ffxml file to my server, to be "rented" on "FF player", then the business of Filter Forge Inc. isn't diminished, and I have created a business for my "app" without compromising the source. Since the ffxmls are small, the "FF player" could connect to the server, un-encrypt the source without downloading it, and authorize the user to rent it for n hours of use. ? _____________________________________________________
