Hi,

I bought Filter Forge 3.0 yesterday, installed it, and put in the license#. I can't download any filters. I've tried downloading from within FF3.0. I've tried going to the Filter Forge website and downloading from there with FireFox and Opera. I've tried using Photoshop CS5.5.

FilterForge starts & says connecting to server. Immediately an error message pops up and the program crashes. The computer has to be restarted. Here's the error message:

Quote
<class XFW::OSCallError> ::InternetQueryOptionA(proxy settings) failed with error code 0x0000000E: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

The OS is Windows 7, with 16GB RAM, and 844 GB free on drive C:

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Just to save you some time, email the same question to the support team.
Sometimes you can get the answer here on the forum, sometimes you have to get it from the support team.

Hi Morgantao,

Thanks for the suggestion. I already submitted bug reports, and emailed the support team. Since I haven't heard back I thought I'd try the forums, too.

I have had this error before the same like you and also thought that the problem was with the hard drive, but was not, BUT regrettably I do not remember what I have done to fix it.

BUT there is something strange, and is the "InternetQueryOptionA(proxy settings)" smile:?:
Are you using any Internet Software Security software that could be blocking FF ?
What software are you using if any?

I have only found on internet this here

This error usually happens when the build process needs a lot of RAM memory and cannot get it

Know that even when you have 16GB RAM, Filter Forge CAN´T use more than 1,5 GB.

ALSO I have put a dedicated thread to solve and give help to possible download problems that you can see in this link here below

Hi SpaceRay,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually, I read your thread http://filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=8&TID=9427 before posting in the forums.

I don't use Comodo IS, ZoneAlarm, or Spyware PC Doctor. I use McAfee AntiVirus Plus, and I haven't found anything in the forums saying that would cause a problem. Maybe it does with version Filter Forge 3?

I haven't tried your last suggestion of uninstalling & reinstalling FilterForge yet. Since this is a brand new installation of Filter Forge and a pretty new computer, too, I thought that might not be necessary.

If I don't get a solution here or from support by tomorrow, I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

MaryCold, do you use a proxied or a direct Internet connection?
Please delete the following file: %APPDATA%\Filter Forge 3\Options.xml and try again.

Hi GMM,

I deleted %APPDATA%\Filter Forge 3\Options.xml and tried again.

The same thing happened, same error message, and I had to restart the computer.

proxydetect.com says I have:

Anonymous proxy. Presense 'PROXY' or 'VIA' HTTP variable in your HTTP headers.

I have a cable modem and wireless router and use fullchannel.net as my ISP.

Problem solved...

Support suggested I reconfigure Filter Forge Options.
Found here: Tools > Options > Online tab.

Then try one of the following:

1. If you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, choose the "Use proxy" option in the "Connection settings" area.
2. If you don't use proxy, choose "Direct connection" in the above settings.

Despite the fact that proxydetect.com said I am using anonymous proxy, the "Use proxy" option in the "Connection settings" area didn't work.

However, "Direct connection" does work. So now I am happily downloading filters! smile:D
