I have bought a new computer and still have FF 1.09. When I try to install new filters I get the answer that firefox does not know how to install because the file is not associated to a program.
I have made the association to the .ffxml in windows, but it does not help. I cannot find any download possibility for the first version, just the FF3 Just now I have ff3 as trial, but i have not the money to buy it yet, therefor I am cntinuing to use the original version. can you help? My forum name is gunsan I have the registerd version of FF 1.09 but I know there have been updates to this many times. All this stuff has of course disappeared when I changed computer Can I download the latest version of the FF1 anywhere? Thanks for help Gun Legler |

If you put a ffxml on your desktop and double click it, does FF1 open it? |

I don't usually use Firefox, even though I have it installed. So I gave it a try. My Firefox didn't know what to do either. It said "Filter Forge not installed or cookies missing in your browser." And then it offered to install activate this. When I accepted, it still required that I make an association. And it was pointing to the wrong ff executable. So I had to navigate to the correct ff file.
Is any of this happening with you? IOW, is it offering you a chance to do this, but after you do it, it still doesn't work. Also, have you tried a different browser? Have you checked file associations in Firefoxes application menu? |

Brfore I associated .ffxml to FF in Firefox FF3 installed OK but not FF1
Now either of them can install new filters when I click on install in filterforge both Firefox and Explorer says that they cannot install because Filterforge already is running, so now i cannot install at all, not in FF3 like before Don'tknow what to do. |

Installing this did not solve the problem. I cannot download filters neither in FF1 nor FF3 now
Before I created the file association in Firefox, I could download filters in FF3 but not in FF1. Opening Explorer gives the same result. Semms that I have to stop using FilterForge ![]() |

Have you tried to set it to "Always ask"? I think if you use both versions that would be best, as you can only associate the files with one version and that way it lets you choose.

I discovered that I can install new filters from inside Photoshop without problems inFF3.I have just a week left on the trial, so I hope I can solve the FF 1 problem before that.
I tried before in the program I use the most and always have used for FF: PaintShopPro. Well, I will try to install FF1 to Photoshop too, but I don't know yet how it will work I guess I will rtirn later if I don't can find any solution. Thanks for trying to help! |
