Hi folks, I'm not sure if it would be considered a bug or it is how it uses to work, but I noticed in FF 3.006 that then connecting the slider control with one component option, it gets the input name, until here it is ok, but if I disconnect it, and connect the slider control to another input in the same or another component, the slider control name doesn't refresh to the new input name, so it doesn't get the actual connection name. IMHO every time I change the slider connection, it should get updated the input name.

Hi Lucato
Since 3 or 4 weeks that I started creating filters with FF2 and one with FF3 and I have the same problem. I did not know that when disconnected and reconnected, a slider control was supposed to refresk the name to the new input name. If it is supposed to refrsh, well it must be a bug. visit https://gisoft.ca |

AFAIK - ever since v1.0 - control sliders always automatically assumed the name of the first map input they were connected to. Once they are thus renamed however, they do not - and never did to my knowledge - auto-rename themselves when subsequently connected to a different map input.
IMO this is the correct behaviour, since you do not want controls to auto-rename themselves once you've labeled them. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Yes. I think this is even stated in the help file. |

Hi folks, thanks for the feedback!
Yes, good point! Anyway it would be great if FF would get to recognize when it isn't labeled yet, so it would keep updating connection names and once it is labeled, FF doesn't rename. Or better than that, it would be great if FF had a checkbox in the slider control to select (Allow to rename set as default). So, if cheked it keeps renaming the slider control when connected in a new input of a component. After we label a slider, it would automatically unchecked the checkbox, therefore, if unchecked, the slider won't change/rename the slider when changing the inputs in a component. ;0) |
