Hi FF team,
I was talking with Vlad in this topic, regarding FF2 creating folders when having installed FF1. Just to inform, today I've removed FF1 by having FF2 installed and noticed that the FF1 folders into adobe/.../plug-ins/Filters/ and all Filter Forge folders weren't deleted too when installing FF1. Noticed also that when installing over the FF2, it didn't create a FF2 folder into adobe/.../plug-ins/Filters/ for PS Elements 7.0 Cheers. |

Luis, FF1 and FF2 can be installed aside. FF2 will not remove an installed copy of FF1.
Mac or Windows? We don't (and probably won't) support PS Elements under Mac. |

GMM, yup I know, I meant that it didn't uninstalled the plug-ins when uninstalling the FF1. In other words, it didn't deleted the "Filter Forge" folders (FF1) into adobe plug-ins folders (adobe/.../plug-ins/Filters/) when uninstalling FF version 1.
Ops, I'm sorry for not mentioning that it was for PC. ;0) |

Just to make sure I understand you right: the FF1 uninstaller removes the program but leaves the 'plug-ins/Filters/Filter Forge' folder behind? If yes it is definitely a bug. |

Hi GMM, it was totally my mistake, due the link you have posted to update the beta, and I downloaded the older one instead because your link wasn't directing to the FF2 download page and I clicked on the first button which was for the FF1. My fault, I'm sorry about that, anyway I've download all over and installed all over and I'd like to update the situation here on my PC:
When uninstalling FF1 It removes the plug-ins folders, no worry. It is ok. :0) But, when uninstalling left the folder "Filter Forge" and subfolders at 'C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\application Data\' When uninstalling FF2 - FF2 uninstaller removes the program but leaves the folder "Filter Forge" and subfolders 'C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\application Data\' behind IMHO I think this issue is due my Windows is in another language, so the "Application Data" is called "Dados de Aplicativos" instead, and maybe the uninstaller doesn't get to find the correct folder. Well, I'm not a programmer, just commenting. :0) Or is it to avoid deleting "My filters" and you have to do it manually or a bug? Maybe it would have a message that you will delete all your updated filters and My filters and have an option to click on a button to save all them into another folder before uninstalling. When installing FF2 with FF1 already removed: - It's ok creating all "Filter Forge 2" into all plug-ins programs folders. ;o) |

It's not a bug, it's feature ![]() It's de facto a standard for Windows applications to leave %APPDATA% folder after the program was uninstalled. Space... it seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you. |

We've tested this and were unable to reproduce. The installer creates all the necessary folders. Please check that PSE is not running when you're installing Filter Forge. |

Hey GMM, as I mentioned 2 posts above, it was totally my fault. I followed your link in other post to update to FF2 2.003, but it was pointing before to the download page that has both versions instead of directing to the download page of FF2 as it is pointing now, so I had clicked on the first button that was for the FF1 instead. So, that why all this mess. Of course the FF1 would never create a FF2 folder. :0) I'm sorry about that. |

Never mind ![]() In your last post in the other thread you mention a bug to check out. I thought it was about PS Elements. |

Well, it was about all this mess and Photoshop and the browser weren't calling FF, just Standalone. Now all is working ok. The only weird behavior I'm getting is when using the filter from PS Elements 7.0, it shows a pop-up window saying "Filter Forge is running - Click here to switch" and I don't need to click because it opens the FF anyway. Maybe it is a new warning in whit version just in case people switch windows programs and think that FF was closed, right? |

This pop-up window ensures a proper z-order of windows and prevents certain issues with Filter Forge disappearing behind PS floating panels.
You can switch this off by modifying the 'Filter Forge\Plugin\Filter Forge.config' file and setting the IndependentUI value to false. However this is unsupported and may lead to issues mentioned above. |
