this is not a big deal and i suspect it may mostly go away when FF2 is released and folks move over to that, but i also suspect it may never go away completely. and, that is, when filters are posted in the forums there is no distinction in filter name (inherently) between version one filters and version 2 filters. this is not a problem if one has v2; you simply put all your filters there and v2 can handle it. but, what if you only have v1? that means that v2 filters will be put into FF1 and that's liable to cause some headaches for FF, inc. and the person doing such.

couldnt we like label v2 filters somehow, like with .ffxml2 or something? or is that going to cause more headaches than it solves?

like i say, it's really a minor issue, so no biggie, but i do see where it could be an annoyance, thus i've mentioned it.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
