Hi folks, my FF was acting weird. I don't know why it lost the main categories and when I opened FF it was just showing the "My Filters" category. The other categories such as Building, Misc, Organic and so on were missing. I've installed over the previous install and it didn't solved. So, I had to uninstall all and install again FF. Now the default categories are all back, but the problem now is that it isn't showing my back-up files. I mean, I've copied all my library files to C:\Documents and Settings\Myuser\Application Data\Filter Forge\System\Library and also I had a back-up of the folder _SYNCAPP with the file metadata.xml which I've replaced into the library folder, but it is just showing the default files. Is there any file that I can edit to make it recognize my files? How could I get to make FF get to read my non-default files I had downloaded before?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Lucato.....I think your files got wiped out when you did the re-install because you left your backups inside the FF folder. I would suggest creating backups outside of the FF folder where FF's processies won't touch them.....

Your loss of catagories sounds like your update stream got broken.....then wouldn't correct it because something was missing or corrupted......

Hi Steve, all my back-ups are outside the FF folder, anyway thanks for the info. My problem now is when I send the files back to the FF folder (Library), FF isn't recognizing them and isn't adding them into each category. So, that is why I'm asking if is there any file that I can edit to make it recognize my files? How could I get to make FF get to read my non-default files I had downloaded before?

Just adding a info, "My Filters" are recognizing the back-up files, only the other categories that aren't.

Cheers,
Lucato

A quick fix that might or might not work.
Delete CachedInfos.xml and LibraryStructure.xml from the %APPDATA%\Filter Forge\System folder, then launch Filter Forge and choose Tools->Filter Updates... Wait it to complete connecting to the server and press Cancel (you don't need it to download any updates).

Please make me now whether that helped or not.

Hey onyXMaster, thanks a lot for the workaround. It worked. Now the previous files are showing up.

Thread solved.

Thanks again and have a great week.
Lucato.
