When I start Filter Forge is seems to be checking for updates on Filter Forge and any of the filters I have installed. The last time I updated my filter (and it was accepted) it said there were no new updates of Filter Forge or Filters. But when I selected Tools|Filter Updates it confirmed that an updated version was there.

to Andrew B.:
Does the problem reoccur? That is, can you catch a situation when Filter Forge tells you there are no updates and then you go to Tools > Filter Updates and see bold updates there?
Bold marks new updates, that is the ones that you haven't seen yet. The automatic update notifier shows only these new updates. So, if you have already seen some updates but haven't installed them, they will not be shown at startup any more but will still be shown in Tools > Filter Updates.

I didn't notice if it was bold or not. But I know that my filter was a new update, because I had just updated it.
I have the new version on my computer now, and I'll pay more attention to the specifics if this problems turns up again. In fact, every time it tells me there are no updated filters, I'll check anyway.

This also happened to me tonight.
I opened FF and FF asked to 'Check for Updates' I clicked 'Yes', I was told that filers had been removed. I clicked 'Yes' to synchronise the libraries. (I was not told there were any updates)
Straight after I checked the library for more filters and found that there were 5 Updates.
The updates were NOT in bold but I have always downloaded all updates in the past so I am sure I did not miss these.

I recently submitted an update to my filter. This time FF did automatically tell me that an update was available.

Thanks for letting us know. Please keep an eye open on everything that happens to updates on your machine because we never managed to reproduce the thing.

This worked correctly again. I was notified of a filter update and instructed to use the tools filter update menu. When the filter was downloaded its name was bolded.
Anyway, from now on I'll only post in this thread if something is wrong.
