Hello,
Using Filter Forge 10 with Photoshop 2021 and Windows 10.
After installing Filter Forge, it appeared as a plug-in within Photoshop (Filter > Filter Forge).
Today, I started to work on an image on Photoshop and Filter Forge isn’t listed as a plug-in.
What should I do to retrieve it?
Thank you.

Hi Helen,

Is there a chance that your Photoshop was updated to 2022 since the last time you used it?

I'm not sure if the plugin is compatible with the 2022 version, so it possible neither of the possible methods to address this below will work.

You could locate the plugin in the previous Photoshop folder (which is saved when the newer Photoshop is installed) and move it to the correct folder in the new installation.
I don't know if the FilterForge installer can be run and install ONLY the plugin, but you could try that if you are not comfortable locating and moving the plugin yourself.

Hopefully GMM or someone else can comment on this as well.

chrisd is correct: FF10 supports PS 2021 but not 2022.
Please make sure your version is indeed PS 2021, then reinstall FF10: it will prompt you to install a PS 2021 plugin.

Will FF10 (and FF11) support PS2022 (version 23.*) and if so what is the time schedule for its release

FF11 already supports PS 2022 – feel free to install the beta version, and it will prompt you to install a Photoshop plugin:

The commercial release is planned by the end of the year.

I can't find my registration number from FF 10, so can't get FF 11. (Except for the 30 days trial, and I have tried that) Can I retrieve the old registration number in any way so I can get Filter Forge back in Photoshop, please?

Sure: the best way is to contact the reseller with whom you placed your order.
If for some reason they don't help you try messaging our support team.

Upgrade from FFv9 to v10 the Photoshop plugin does not work in PhotoShop 2022(very recent update) it is not offered during installation. OK in Affinity Photo. The Plugin File date is 05-05-2021.

Beta V11 works OK in Photoshop 2022, the Plugin File date is 27-10-2021.

Has V10 been overlooked by team as FFv11 is coming out. Can you copy and rename the v11 file to the V10 Plugin folder?

Have received this info from Support:

Unfortunately Photoshop 2022 is not supported yet:
https://www.filterforge.com/download/hosts.html

The plugin will be added in the next program version due by the end of November. For now, you can copy and paste your images from Photoshop into standalone Filter Forge, or continue using the plugin under PS 2021.

Best regards,
Filter Forge Support

There's a happy end for me smile:)
I asked for the missing reg. number for my FF 10. Got it.
Then I download the Beta version of FF 11, asked for a number for that, got it, and now I have Filter Forge back as a Photoshop plug in as it should be smile:)
So if you can do the same I recommend it highly!

I have Photoshop 2022.
Newest version available.
You can get it to work, it just requires doing it manually.
If you have PSP or any other supported app, simply copy the FF plugin folder and put it in photoshop's plugins folder. restart PS and it will be there in the list again. -GL!

Referring to Photoshop versions by year is confusing. If you look at the "About" section in Photoshop, it displays the version number in the following format: "23.0.2 release". There is no mention of a year.

Please use the correct syntax to avoid confusion.

Thanks.

Agree that 2022 does not appear in the 'About' section in Photoshop but "23.0.2 release" makes little sense to most as you load "Adobe PhotoShop 2022" as the program. Some software shows "the title" and some the "Release", it does not help but I agree it maybe necessary to quote both to indentify it truely. Possibily there is only one 'Adobe PhotoShop 2022' but there can be many versions (or builds) of it.
I can confirm that the FF10 plug-in no longer works for me with this version and that was confirmed by FF Tech Support as the priority was given to the development of FF11 in Win 11 and PS 2022. FF11(Beta) plug-in works fine......

Up till now I do not recall seeing anything on my computer that referred to Photoshop by year. Not strictly true, as on the current version's load screen it does display Copyright 1990 - 2021, which confuses things more, since we are referring to Photoshop 2022.

However, after reading your post, I did discover that by hoovering my mouse pointer above the Ps icon on my computer desktop, it actually shows the words "Adobe Photoshop 2022". Since I'm not in the habit of hoovering over that icon, I never noticed it before.

I live and I learn.

It doesn't work out of the box during install like normal no.
But again, it WILL work in APS 2022 if you install it manually.
I am using the most current update of PS, (as of 12/10/21 9:56am CST)
It has to be basically stolen from the plugins folder of whatever compatible OTHER app you have it installed for.
For me, I also have cPsP2019, (Paintshop Pro 2019 by Corel). It is compatible with FF10 plugin and shows up during install as an option.
I installed it for CPsP, and then stole the FF10 plugin folder from the installed location under CPsP, (copy folder).
I then pasted that into the photoshop plugins folder....Violins! it was now available in PS... (after I restarted photoshop).
I will say however it is very slow, but it WILL work that way if you really need it to be there.

***Notably: when i say slow keep in mind I am working with images over 5k pixels and 300+ dpi.
So smaller more normal size images will be much faster, I imagine.
