I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the installer refuses to recognize Adobe Photoshop 2020. It only lets me install the standalone version. This was not an issue with previous releases.

Nevermind. It seems Filter Forge dropped the ball and won't be fixing Filter Forge 7, or even the current version, to work with Photoshop 2020. Obviously, they don't care about their customers.

Robert, did you ever get a solution? It seems crazy that FF is sold as a PS plugin, but it seems there is no way to get a simple answer to how to get it to work!?!?

I have had the same problem, this website gives you instructions on how to manually add the Filter Forge plug in to photoshop. The tutorial is for FF 9, but I also did it with 6 and it worked.

Unfortunately, I came across this as my 1st attempt to resolve the issue with FF8 after having to suddenly replace my old PC. This did nothing for me on my Windows 10 machine. What did work was a suggestion for a mac I believe, instructing to "hold down Command-Option {Ctrl key in Windows} while you drag" the proper .8bf and .config files to the plugins folder of my application (Paintshop Pro 2021 in this case). Worked like a charm. https://community.adobe.com/t5/photosh...-p/8675064 |
