I recently found some problems with FF8 happening on my laptop but not on my desktop.
They are all about the filter settings menu.

The first is about the scroll bar.

If I continue using and moving the mouse, everything is ok.
Instead, if I stop 1-2 minutes and don't touch the computer, when I bring the mouse pointer over the setting menu, I don't succeed to select anything.
It is easy to see in the picture where there is the mouse pointer over the scroll bar. The down arrow should react to the mouse pointer, change color, and let me scroll down the menu. But instead it doesn't.

I must right click on other areas of FF8 screen, and after 2-3 clicks, it goes back to normal.
If again I wait 1-2 minutes, the problem is back.

Another is not exactly a problem, because it doesn't influence my FF8 use, but it is clearly some kind of error.

I attach a photo.

As you can see, there is some kind of "reflection" (?) of the upper section.

It may be connected with the previous trouble.

I bet your laptop has a hi-DPI display while desktop does not.
Unfortunately a few hi-DPI issues still remain.

A third thing is that, sometimes, the window of FF8 editor opens wider than the laptop screen.

It could be ok if the window was not in full screen mode.
Then it would be easy to move the window up and find the remaining part of the FF8 screen.
But being in full screen mode, there is nothing to do except restarting the program.

What is your scaling factor? (set in Display settings > Change the size of text, apps and other items)?

Also, please try removing the following file and check if it helps:
%APPDATA%\Filter Forge 8\Preferences.xml

The scale is 125%, that is recommended for my laptop.
Instead the desktop has 100% (recommended).
