Hi all, this might be user error - I am not a FF expert but have used it for a few years as needed to render texture maps.

Today (and I am sure I have not seen this before) I am unable to sel ect a map type (such as diffuse map) fr om the render maps sub-menu. The only option I have is Alpha Map. All of the other options are greyed out.

It happens on FF4 and FF6 beta,

Any thoughts to what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks, sorry if I missing the obvious - I have a feeling I might be!

Cheers

If a filter does not use the lighting model, the alpha channel is all you get. The way you can tell if a filter has the lighting model is if there is a Lighting Tab. This snapshot is from the Surface Texture Engine.

Hi Rick, thank you for this - that makes total sense!

And indeed this is what I see. It all seems fine this morning. I was particularly looking at the Cell Leather texture (by Sphinx) and yesterday that did not have a choice of render maps other than alpha - but it is fine now. Yesterday I did however have difficulty downloading / connecting to the online library (in program and via web browser) and that seems to have resolved this morning as well so I suspect the specific issue I had was related to that - or I have just finally lost it smile:) Not sure but I'm cooking with gas now!

Thank you again Rick, much appreciated.
