My simple filter with primitive math operations renders tooooo slow. How much time it takes for your PC to render LifeSaver using it?TooSlowFilter.ffxml Andrey Mironov |

Is this a simple filter? I'm afraid to think what you'd call a complex one!

Seriously: this is procedural graphics, and hundreds of fast components will still sum up to a slow filter. And I can't resist suggesting you use one Multiply component instead of hundreds of Adds. |

I believe this filter exposes any eventual framework overhead

Because all "add" operations are different! +1, +8, -6, +1 etc.
Wow! What PC config do you have? Andrey Mironov |

Just over 2 minutes... and 20 seconds of frozen interface before the render starts! Doesn't crash FF (cause it to close) at all, though.

I counted about 4000 Adds in series in your filter. The good news is that loops are a remedy for this initial delay.
