Was noticing an old post on different x86 (32-bit?) versions Is there a difference in 64-bit versions?

 I.e. any that use SSE3, 4, 4.1 or 4.2?
(I notice my 4 y/o cpu has 'sse4_2' -- what are the up to now?)

Is there an option to use graphics cards for rendering?

 thanks!

Your message is hard to understand.
Filter Forge is a 32-bit application. It doesn't use GPU for rendering.

You had different versions of 32-bit some that used the SSE2 instructions, some that didn't. I was wondering
about versions that used SSE3 or SSE4+ (as well
 as 64-bit)...

Is there a reason why 64bit-native version isn't offered?
32-bit versions usually run 10-15% slower than native
 counterparts.

No: since we dropped support for non-SSE2 CPUs there is only one version left.

The main reason there is no 64-bit version is the use of Carbon API which is 32-bit only. Beside that, our custom memory manager doesn't address large amounts of RAM and won't make a 64-bit version run faster.
