WELL ... I installed the new release of FF 4 today. I have been using FF 3.

FF 4 is slow ..... lots of lag time with cursor ... same with scrolling through effects. None of these issues with version 3.

Additionally, other programs that worked zippy and fine before FF 4 are now bogged down ...... or crashing. FF 4 is not playing well with other programs.

This is very disappointing.

Did I mention it was a pain to install. Took 15 minutes for my pc to recognize the installation and offer up a registration box.

You should report specific details. The program's got a major feature change and as always comes with a ton of bugs. Over time stuff gets solved. Plus a report would help people. smile;)

I run Win7 64 Bit ... 12 or 16 GB Ram ..... Core i7.

Onone Perfect Resize crashes when I hit apply. Worked fine before FF 4.

Entire Onone Perfect Photo Suite 7.5 slows to a crawl. Sliders don't respond ... brushes lag ...... layers take forever to form. Again, no problems when running FF 3 and before FF 4.

Photoshop doesn't seem to be affected.

I just uninstalled FF 4. I don't have time to mess with a program that is this buggy.

Isn't that what the Beta's were for... to work out the "ton of bugs" before release?

FWIW, I'm running FF4 on Win8.1/64, and so far everything's been very smooth. In fact, I was wondering if some filters are updating more quickly than before. Certainly no weird lags or sluggishness.

The install, however, was rather interesting, as it took 15% of my CPU for about 20 minutes, apparently installing or updating my (very large) filter library. But nothing went wrong, other than that there was no warning the installation might take an unprecedentedly long time--without any indication to the user that it was even still running.

My machine has a lot of apps installed on it, most of which get updated fairly often. As a result, I had accumulated about 5 versions of MS VC 2008 distribution, and eventually apps began to break or run weirdly (not FF). When I cleaned out all those old versions of VC runtime, and reinstalled the latest from MS, several apps started working again, or began to work smoother and faster. Just a thought . . .
