After clicking "Open in Filter Forge" on the web page, some filters open up in Filter Forge with only one preset, even though a number of presets are shown on the web page.

For example, "Dead Sea Salt" shows up with only one factory preset, but there are eight presets shown on the web page:

Is there some way to get at the missing presets other than on the "Presets" tab, or is this a bug?

I've run across this issue about five times so far, out of about a hundred filters that I have downloaded.

Thanks.

This isn't really a bug. The FF website just creates additional random presets when fewer than 9 are included in the filter.

Maybe FF should disallow filter submissions that don't include at least 9 presets, that would end the confusion.

Thanks for the explanation, uberzev.

It would be helpful if the web page at least showed what the settings were for the randomly generated presets, because some of the filters have a lot of settings, which makes it error-prone to replicate a preset just by looking at it and trying to guess at how to reproduce it.

Yup. Harsh but just. That would also force the author to finetune the controls of his filter and come up with presets that are representative. Spending a little time exploring one's own filters before submission cannot be bad...

----What ? Use my own filters ? Oh nooooooo smile:D Heck, making the presets is the fun part really, unless yer making some boring color altering or focusing filter, then it's not like there'd be much difference between the presets anyways.

At first, I thought that less presets (or even only one) on a downloaded filter was a limitation of TRIAL version!
I couldn't find that explanation on FAQ, so I found this (old) post smile:)
