Hi,
It's already the 3rd time I am installing Filter Forge (different versions), and having the same issue over and over again. It crashes on start with the message "Critical exception occured at thread 00002338...", "<class XFW::Exception> Kernel processing initialization failed." This happens on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, but I've installed both FF 2 and FF 3 earlier on both windows 7 and windows 8 after formatting my computer and I was getting the same error. And now the same happened with Filter Forge 4 Beta. My computer is a DELL INSPIRON 15R (N5110) notebook. Please someone help me with this issue. |

Please reboot into Safe Mode and check if Filter Forge runs correctly in Safe Mode.

I tried to open it in Safe Mode, the same error message pops up.

You can also try the so-called Windows8-compatible FF version from here.

Even the Windows8-compatible FF version stopped working in the very same way.

I'm out of ideas. This looks like an individual incompatibility between FF and your hardware. I haven't seen any other similar cases like yours. If you have a license this should qualify for a refund.

Oh, one more idea. Please navigate to \Program Files\Filter Forge 3\Bin\ and run "Filter Forge x86.exe" instead of the normal launcher.

Just gave me the same error, but in another type of window, and gave me this bug report data too:
