Yup, I have to agree that it's a little weird, but if you read the Help: Multiblend Component you will see that "Layer 1 is the bottom layer (the background), and the following layers are 'placed' over each other, with Layer 7 being the topmost (the foreground) layer"
I think the it would work different. I mean the layer 1 should be the topmost and 7 the background. Besides that, each layer in the Multiblend would also have the MODE (Darken, multiply, etc). Just my 2c. |

Hi.
Multiblend. Great idea for a component, thanks FF team. It should tidy our code up a lot. I do believe this component is working correctly as described.
However, this is not intuitive to Photoshop users. We are used to the background layer (layer 1) being at the bottom of the stack Please, please change the order so that layer 1 is at the bottom and layer 7 is at the top. +1 for layer blending mode on the top 6 layers. (not on the bottom background layer 1) Will this component work quicker than using several blends to achieve the same thing? Ken. |

Thats a good question multiple blends seem to kill ff but My fiddling around with it seems to cause minimal impact but has anyone found any impact with its use compared to traditional multiple blends we have been using

Yup. The GUI on this component appears counter-intuitive to me as well. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

lol, shows you what i know. i didnt even realize there was a priority to the layers. i would have thought that with all of them at 100% you would have gotten a mix of all. ok, so learned something new
![]() but, if you are going to change the order, change it quickly! i've already started converting filters to use this and if you reverse it some time down the road, all my presets are going to be whacko. frankly, i'm fine with it as it is. and VERY glad to have it. this will do wonders for some of my larger filters! craig If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

That's a little better, still weird though.

That's how I'd expect it to look as a photoshop user. Definitely better. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

![]() With Layer 1 being the bottom and Layer 7 being the top layer (which is also shows correctly on the component in the default state), I don't see how this is upside down. It's roughly equivalent to a layer stack on the PS layers palette now, and logically correct. The 7th floor of a seven floor building is usually the topmost floor, no? ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |
