As we are slowly approaching the fourth version I'm preparing a list of issues that were reported but haven't been fixed. I'd appreciate your comments in case I am missing something reported on the forums. Bugs for both Windows and Mac are welcome here. Please DO NOT post here:
- any feature requests;
- any issues caused by interaction between Filter Forge and the host application;
- any issues with the online library or filter downloading;
- one-time issues that haven't been confirmed by someone else.

Platform-independent:
- All kinds of LUA problems
- Desaturate bug
- Free Ellipse Bug
- Issues with alphas and blending
- Worley bug

Windows:
- Bad allocation
- Unknown exception (a common problem surprisingly not reported on the forums)
- Horizontal lines with multi-pass previews

Mac OS:
- Scrollwheel behavior issue

Please, could tell a little bit more what does this mean ?

Will we have to buy the upgrade of FF 4.0 to get this bugs fixed or will there be a new 3.0 version with this bugs fixed ?

Also I wonder if we are near from the FF 4.0 beta ?

Offset bug

It turned out to be a problem with Bomber, not with Offset or AssembleRGB. Expect the fix in the next program update.

This looks like another manifestation of the Subtle Bomber Bug (case 1, case 2, case 3). Dmitry aka Egret claims he has fixed the bug – please wait for the next program update

I certainly hope not. Adding new features is a reason to buy version 4.0. Bug fixes should be FF 3 updates.

Perhaps you may be possibly wrong IF the fix involves making a new software and much changes to be able to make it to work right.

Why would they take more than 9 months to fix the "bad allocation" bug ?

BUT you may be right that small bugs of some of the above ones could really be available as a FF 3.0 update and not need to wait for 4.0

We want to move to the 4.0 codebase with as few open issues as possible. Of course everything that can be fixed in 3.0 will be fixed and released as a minor update.

So out of the 9 ongoing bugs listed above, only 2 have been resolved?

The ONLY one I'm interested in is the Bad Allocation bug that has been going on since V2. I would like to actually RENDER a large image (as advertised) without it crapping out 50% of the time.

So will this be fixed in V4? I don't expect an answer, but I am assuming yes.

I sure do hope the Bad Allocation bug is solved in FF4. That alone would be a good reason to upgrade.
The only thing is... It's a bug. Bug fixes are supposed to be free. So if they manage to solve the bug for FF4, they should upload a fix for FF2 and FF3 as well. Unless it's a major overhaull of the entire code base, and then it's in the grey zone smile:|
I have a headache now smile:D

I agree with you and really the MOST important, interesting and useful to fix is the Bad allocation bug, as this affects ALL the filters and not like the others that are for some specific filter and features.

If you want you can read this thread below that is about this Bad Allocation bug

9 MONTHS with this bug and still without a fix, solution or news

- All kinds of LUA problems

Now I know from Skybase that is a very bad bug for Mac users that can´t use the LUA scripts as it gives many errors and has not been fixed since long time ago.

Will this fixes be able to be solved in FF 3.0?

At least I hope and wish that all this can be solved for FF 4.0
